ASUS P4P800SE 478 Intel 865PE ATX Intel Motherboard

Pros: FAST, no northbridge fan needed, EAASYYY built-in overclocking utility. Stable as heck. Crash-free bios, and all kinds of features that are actually useful!

Cons: Only two SATA connections, no SATA II.

Overall Review: Awesome product. Cost to performance ratio is excellent. I switched to this after my ECS PF1 board blew out. I'm totally sold on ASUS now. Documentation in the manuals is more than you could ask for. By far the best 478 mobo out there.

Pros: Solid Overclocker, intuitive BIOS, great feature set, very stable. I run my 2.8GHz Prescott at 3.7 with no problems.

Cons: Memory devider could have been implemented better.

Overall Review: There's no reason (aside from price) to run any other socket 478 board. This has all the features you could want from an i865 board with excellent overclocking capabilities. Onboard audio is good and has Coaxial S/PDIF output. The onboard LAN is really solid as well.

Pros: Very solid motherboard, for the prescott class this would be my favorite pick. I went through several Soyo and AOpen motherboards that would just die after running a fast prescott till I got this mobo.

Cons: Price is a bit steep, but definately worth it.

Pros: Purchased this with a P4 3.0G Prescott CPU, upgraded from a P4 1.7A on an ECS 4X agp board...Zowie!! Even my dated FX 5700 video card looks better! Ordering a 7800GS next month to top off a system destined for the kids.

Overall Review: Asus' boards are the best I've ever owned/assembled. Never a problem with driver updates or customer support. Newegg is simply the only place to shop online, no-one else even comes close to matching such outstanding service!! My orders always arrive on-time and in perfect condition using either UPS or Fed-Ex!!

Cons: When running in dual channel mode, the OC preconfigured choices, will only work up to 10% anything above that will make the computer not start… I don’t blame the board, I have to look into this, I might be doing something wrong.

Pros: This board covers a comprehensive set of the newest features on a solid mature platform. Bootable USB support on this MB seems excellent. Although I have only verified the use of Forced Floppy and HDD, the BIOS also supports Floppy and CD emulation for USB. I have the latest BIOS (ver. 1011) as this time. USB Bootable - Corsair Flash Voyager - I have booted it under Forced Floppy and HDD. I used the Forced Floppy option on an image of a DOS CD that I use for Ghosting images. The HDD emulation also works with a BartPE bootable solution using Fred Langa's Article on booting XP from a USB device (from InformationWeek in Jan, '06). Newegg's reviews are a real value add to their products. Their shipping is first rate. Their comprehensive coverage of products with links to manufacturer's sites and everything else that's too long to mention gets 6 eggs outta 5!

Cons: Although I use a 2.8 Ghz Celeron D (I use a slooowed down 80 mm fan on a Thermaltake copper cooler -- TR2 M12 -- to make the fan inaudible -- 5v), I have minimal cooling needs. However, those who need more cooling may need to get a little creative. The CPU is at the edge of the MB, and very close to the ATX power supplies - at least that's the case where the supply is on the side of the CPU (like many mid-tower cases).

Overall Review: Works perfectly with my ancient no name brand DDR 266 memory. Works in Dual Channel mode (2 modules), but I use it in Single Channel mode with 3x128 MB.

Pros: Replaced a decent, stable Bio* board on my recently built computer. Plugged, booted and it posted, and everything came up and ran using the Bio* drivers. Only had to install USB 2.0. Amazing to this newbie.

Cons: None that I've found so far. Thanks New Egg.

Overall Review: Would not hesitate to buy this again.Only board with lots of reviews that I could find with 5egg rating. I concur, as it will overclock fine also.

Pros: very fast motherboard, over 2x the speed of the board it replaced with all other components being re-used.

Cons: wouldnt boot, boot bios said cover was open. had to remove battery and clear cmos to clear error.

Overall Review: very happy with product, wife loves the speed increase.
