Pros: Really... there's so much to say about this board. - Great overclocker. Using a guide that I found on the Asus forums, I got my i7 930 to 4.0ghz in no time with a Corsair H50. Someone with no overclocking experience getting to 4.0ghz in an hour without ONE blue screen or freeze up should you tell something about the board. - Nearly identical to the Asus P6X58D Premium for $60 less. They took out a LAN port, and removed a cooling pipe between the two heatsinks on the board, but otherwise they're very similar. - Having those two extra SATA ports on the bottom was helpful for me when plugging in the eSATA from my Storm Sniper case. - The pins used for plugging in the case controls not only were listed in the manual, but were also written clearly on the board itself, and on an optional adapter that they give you to make it simpler. I didn't use the adapter, but it's helpful to look at when installing these. - X.M.P. worked flawlessly with my G-Skill 2000mhz memory.
Cons: There aren't any serious cons, but there are a few things I should mention. - You can't keep your RAID array and primary single hard drive on the same controller. I have a 74gb Raptor primary with two 500gb Caviar Blacks in RAID 0 for my games and programs. I plugged everything into the Intel Matrix controller, and selected RAID, and chose the array. For whatever reason, it didn't like this, and wouldn't load into Windows 7. I got around this by moving my Raptor onto the Marvell SATA 6 controller, and leaving the RAID 0 array on the Intel, but I lost all of my programs and files on the array. I would have lost the files anyway (because I was coming from an Nvidia controller on an EVGA 750i), but the freeze-up while loading thing was a problem. - BIOS is great, but has poor labeling for some overclocking features. For example, if you're trying to find the uncore frequency, you probably won't have much luck unless you look in the manual.
Overall Review: Great board all around! If you use Google and look up "P6X58D-E", you can find the few (and minor) differences between this and P6X58D Premium. If you need help overclocking, just use the Asus forums... they're incredible helpful. Make sure to look at the forums for the Premium model though, because the ones for this board are limited. They're so similar though that you can apply all of the same things to this board.
