Not a single negative issue

Pros: Ok, I have read a few negative comments about this board and honestly I don't know what these people did or did not do, but I have not had a single issue. This board has ran great right from the start. This was a new build for me and everything was bought from Newegg. Its been a month now and not a single issue. This board does everything Asus says it can and I am happy with my purchases. Well done Asus, my board works great and would recommend it to my friends.

4x4g Corsair mem
1 GTX 980 card
Cooler Master HAF932 case & Hyper 612 ver.2 CPU cooler, with V1000 power supply
Windows 8.1 64 bit

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Owners manual needs some help. Honestly, Asus need to target their customers a little better. The Owners manual has 20 different languages in it. I would have liked a book with just English and more information about the product. Everything and anything you can tell me about the board should be listed in the manual. Example: What is M.2 and how does it work? What are the befits to using it and so on?

IT will be two years next month and I still have not had one single issue with this board.

asus customer service bent me over

Pros: worked well for 2 years, then failed

Cons: after it failed, i sent it in as an rma, they sent me back a motherboard with bent pins. after one month trying to deal with their emial support, 4 phone calls with atleast half hour wait times just trying to get a shipping label, and repeatedly explaining it had bent pins, i get a label, send it in, and they tell me it has been too long and they are charging me 130 to fix the faulty product they sent me.

Other Thoughts: had used asus for alot of my products, now would not buy their products. they manage to rank worse then acer for me, and that is about as low as i can rank them.

Worst customer service experience of my life.

Pros: The board looks awesome, that's about it.

Cons: Basically everything else. See the next section.

Other Thoughts: I'm writing this email with the full intent of not having my problem solved because let's face it...I've been trying to work with you guys for about six months now and you do next to nothing to help.

I am currently on my third X-99 Deluxe motherboard. My first one died so I sent it in for repair. Rather than fix it, you guys sent me a replacement without consulting me first. That's a bit fraudulent if you ask me. I was without my PC for a month!

My second board wouldn't boot up when I got it so I had to send it in for another RMA. You guys actually did a good job here and sent my third board as an advanced RMA because I need my PC for my job and I can't be without it for a month or I will get fired. I got lucky the first time, I doubt I will be so lucky again.

This new board has an entirely different set of problems. The PC will now power on and works properly except for one GLARING problem...the USB ports on the back don't work. They'll supply power, but they won't transfer data. If I use the ports on the front of my case (which are plugged into the on-board USB headers) I get power and data transfer no problem. That tells me this board is also faulty. Luckily, the PC still allows me to work so I'm trying to be patient about this.

I reached out to your customer service chat about a month ago requesting a new board and explaining I couldn't do a standard RMA. They said they could do that for me, however there currently wasn't anything in stock. That is frustrating to me...stand by your product and send me a replacement. Send me a new one. Send me a refurbished one. For the love of all things, just send me something THAT WORKS! I'm well within my warranty so this shouldn't be causing so much headaches. Let's be honest here, I paid over $400 for my X99-Deluxe motherboard so I think it's really pathetic that you guys are giving me such a hard time on replacing it.

For comparison, my $90 power supply from EVGA needed to be RMA'd and their standard procedure is to send out the replacement first and simply put a hold on my credit card until they receive the faulty product. That is an example of GREAT customer service. You guys should take a lesson. Also, my Intel i7-5820k also needed to be RMA'd and guess what? Intel does the same thing as EVGA. What a surprise! It's no wonder that these companies are held with such high regard. Do you trust your products so little that you're not willing to stand by them?

Today I did the online chat again with another rep. I was told that it isn't possible for ASUS to send me another advanced RMA for this clearly faulty product. You obviously don't care that I'm on my third garbage board (needing a fourth) from you guys in less than six months. Doesn't that strike you as problematic? What happens in your refurb warehouse that allows these boards to get out to consumers? Do you not do QA? Is this problem systemic and just due to the boards being largely problematic?

Anyway, I asked the rep I was talking to if I could speak with a manager. I was told that wouldn't be a problem. Ten minutes go by and he responds saying he is having a hard time finding a supervisor and asks me to wait. I told him no problem and was patient. Ten more minutes go by and still nothing. I respond with a simple elipsis. He says, "Thanks for your patience." A message immediately pops up saying "Nic K. has ended the chat." What...the...hell? Is that a typical ASUS tactic? A few minutes later I got an email stating they had to end the chat because I didn't respond for a period of time. What a joke.

At this point, I've had my fill of ASUS. I've been a brand loyalist for the last eight years but my experience with customer service over the last six months has been enough to turn me away from you guys. It's hard to see the outstanding customer service other companies provide and then be ok with coming to ASUS to receive the worst customer service of my life. I'm going to get in contact with the Better Business Bureau and the California State Attorney General's Office Division of Fraud to express my concerns. I'll also be posting this letter on my Facebook, my blog, as well as use this for my review of the X99-Deluxe on Amzn and Facebook.

Garbage service yields extreme measures.

Thanks for nothing. Love ya.

Great board - terrible support - 400$ board - 0$ Support

Pros: Tons of features, great fan control software + extension board.

I love all of the Asus boards I've owned, next time, I'll buy another brand.

Cons: RMA process is a complete joke.

I sent it in for repair and received the same motherboard back with no notes as to what if any work had been performed. The lone piece of paper that was in the box that was returned back to me had about 10 words that "described" my issue. "RAM no work, sometimes ram work"

The RMA form i sent in described the problem in much greater detail and also explained that the problem was intermittent and many of the different troubleshooting steps I took but of course, none of that made it into the notes.

I call the RMA center and it turns out they didn't do anything to the board because it passed all of the test they performed.

The first guy I spoke with seemed helpful and sympathetic to my situation and after I explained the problem, he put me on hold to escalate my issue to another engineer. Sadly, after being on hold for about 30 minutes a "Thank you for calling Asus" message played and the call disconnected.

I called back and the next associate had no record of my previous call so I explained the problem again. He told me that it was a "documentation" problem because I hadn't done a good job describing the problem when I first RMAed my board.

I asked for a crosship which was denied. They offered to pay for my shipping to get the board back but at this point, I've all ready spent 2 weeks without a working computer and had no faith the right thing would be done if I RMAed my board again.

I just bought a new board.

It is a huge bummer that you can't count on Asus to do the right thing. This is a premium motherboard and I expected premium support. It is totally understandable that some boards have issues and that some percentage of users will have to RMA their boards but this process was awful. Asus had the opportunity to make it right but failed. I can live with two weeks of downtime for a standard RMA but asking me to go one month with out my motherboard because of a faulty RMA process? Come on.

Other Thoughts: Asus makes great stuff when it works. If it breaks, you are out of luck.

Same Boot & post problems as many others have Just RMAed

Pros: Incredible features, very versatile.

Cons: If it only worked! I have had this board for seven months with boot problems from the beginning. Perhaps once in every 8 to 10 boots it would hang and report over-clocking failed even when not over-clocking. I could boot into bios and save the SAME profile that was running and it would boot fine. Last week inexplicably I lost my RAID 0 array on one of the failed boot attempts. I deleted and recreated the array, did a hard format and restored my data and everything looked good. Until.....

Other Thoughts: Yesterday while using the computer, it just died. I thought there was a power failure, but why didn't the UPS kick in? I then realized the lights were on so I figured it was the usual boot related problems. I pressed the power button with no response. I then unplugged the power cord for a minute, re-pluged and it was still completely dead. At this point I assumed it was the power supply which was the problem although the Corsair CP-9020086-NA 850 was only 7 months old. After checking my spare parts box and not having a compatible PS, I ran to Best Buy and picked up a Corsair CX750M for $80. Unfortunately this too failed to fix the problem. I then started removing and checking cables, reseating boards, reseating memory and I even reseated the CPU. I replaced the CMOS battery with the same results: NO POST, not even Q-Codes come up. The only evidence of life was the glow of the onboard power and reset buttons. I then attempted to re-flash bios with a memory stick. I tried with the same stick and bios I had previously used and it failed. I then downloaded the latest bios and it too failed.
This morning I requested an RMA and the board is on its way back to ASUS.
I am and have been a huge Asus fan for at least the last 15 years. I have a dozen builds with Asus boards with only one previously having to be RMAed. I am typing this review on an Asus Laptop, I am using an Asus monitor and I even have an ASUS router. The obvious defects in the X99 board as evidenced on these reviews and on many other forums which I discovered while spending hours trying to get this box running again is very disappointing. In addition to the expense, time and aggravation of the bad board, I am now without my main computer for who knows how long. I only hope my returned board works, unlike the reports of others reviewing the board. I REALLY want to continue to be an ASUS customer...really.

Worked awesome - for a year

Pros: Easy to overclock. Bios was easy to update. Visual Bios was very nice and easy to use. Great looking board, especially in a matching white case (Cooler Master Stryker). Great board layout and cabling was very clean.

Cons: Apparently not very well built. Only lasted just over a year on first XMS setting with water cooling (CPU @ 3.5 and RAM @ 2800 which is a pretty low OC for this high-end equipment). This board might have just killed my 5960x processor, getting the dreaded '00' error and it no longer posts. I will be ordering another board with better reviews, RMAing this thing doesn't really seem like a good idea since it is discontinued and seems to be having so many issues. The three-egg rating is pretty telling and I would rather not put a $1000 processor at risk.

Other Thoughts: This board was the backbone of my VR gaming PC and performed beautifully for just over a year (1 year and 2 months to be exact). Combined with the 5960x, Corsair Vengeance LPX 2800, Nepton 140 XL water cooling, NVidia Titan X 12 GB, EVGA 1000w Power supply, it handled everything with ease. After handling the most demanding graphics almost daily for a year, it died while idling.

Did not work

Pros: It looks cool, that's about it.

Cons: I received the mother board proceeded to install it. It did not work. I requested an RMA to send it back. The RMA apparently did not qualify from some reason and I was told to send it to the manufacture. They are saying its all newegg's fault and now I'm force to pay 300$ on top of the 400 for something I didn't do. Like always the customer cheated.
