First-rate components with comprehensive functionality and excellent performance at competitive price, the ASRock A75M-ITX motherboard delivers everything essential to your entertainment and makes the most reliable computing experience possible. Based on AMD A75 (Hudson D3) and with 2x 240-pin memory slots plus PCIe 2.0 x 16 slot, this mini-ITX motherboard brings the power and media features of Llano platform to a new small form factor, ideal for use with HTPC, low powered machines and other ultra compact systems.
Pros: Works well.
Cons: None
Overall Review: Socket FM1 was replaced by FM2 almost as quickly as it appeared on the market. I sort-of with I had waited and gotten the newer technology. I guess I got overwhelmed by the desire to try out the new APU in a media center type of build. (I currently use my PC with Windows 8 on a large 94" screen with a projector and love it!)
Pros:
-Runs fine now.
-No issues
Cons:
Took egg off b/c it was the first time I have had to strictly purchase memory off Asrock's memory supported list for this mobo. I have always in the past, picked any memory and had zero issues up til now.
Had memory incompatibility issues causing numerous boot issues.
Overall Review:
Well, tip my had to Asrock for honoring warranty. Had to RMA 3 times.
For this APEX MI-110 case that I used, highly recommend this cooler: Akasa Low Profile AMD CPU Cooler - Mini-ITX and Micro-ATX (AK-CC1101EP02)
Pros:
Great Connection options (Though as a media front-end I don't use them )
Solid build.
Easy install. Always install from website, never from the disc.
Running a LARGE coolermaster passive fan to keep the noise down.
Cons:
I would have liked to see this about 20 $ cheaper. Whilst I know I'm paying for the form-factor it'd be nice if they reflected the perceived cost with size.
That being said, would buy again and again and again....
Overall Review:
Using this for XBMC and steam. I functions REALLY well as an XBMC front end. I was hoping to get better bang out of the onboard graphics but hey! I should have known better. hehehe. love this board. Installed clean in Win8. Running a VM on the machine to handle all my media server stuffs in Ubuntu.
Having some issues with Windows 8 and native drivers but nothing really interesting.
Pros: Nice layout of the board, connectors in my cramped case all reached their respective ports. Stable and cool running.
Cons: HDMI decided to stop working one day. Flashed the BIOS to the latest version, no dice, HDMI is totally dead, which makes this a completely worthless board for a media center (seems to be what it was designed for). Will have to RMA. Can NOT use a PCIe 1x card in the PCI Express 16x slot, some boards you can, this one will not do that.
Overall Review: ASRock has had a few QC issues of late I think, this worked perfectly for about 2 weeks before the HDMI output kicked the bucket. Also you can NOT use the PCI express slot for a wireless card. Silly issues killed what could've otherwise been a very nice board for a good price, the board was cheap! You get what you pay for.
Pros: see Cons...
Cons:
Cannot get BIOS to post. I've been getting advice from forums, friends, youtube videos, etc. No matter what, I get no video signal on all display interfaces (VGA, DVI, HDMI). I removed the mobo out of the case with only one stick of memory, 24 pin power, and 4 pin power cable, still nothing. When I plug in keyboard or ethernet cable, they are not getting power.
I have already RMA once, same exactly problem!?!? Having to RMA a second time.
I love the specs on this board but unfortunately this is one of the last mITX FM1 boards available.
Pros: HDMI works on first boot, great sound processing and decent bios.
Cons:
Make sure you reference the approved processors on ASRock's website. I purchased this board with an AMD A6-3500 Llano 2.1 ghz, and it is giving me several problems. The board posts and boots fine, however using any application that attempts to use multiple cores (HD video playback) results in either an unexpected shutdown or the BSOD "A clock interrupt was not received on a secondary processor."
I'm on the latest bios (1.6), and have updated all drivers. Windows 7 x64 updated fine to SP1. The problem persists. Going to attempt using a different CPU.
Overall Review: Hoping this issue will be solved by Newegg RMA, it seems like a fantastic board if I could actually use my HTPC for it's intended purpose.
Pros: Good performance, good price, lots of features.
Cons: Limited CPU cooler options in low profile configurations because the board apparently violates AMD's recommendations for board layout. Essentially if you use any RAM with a tall heat spreader, then you can't use the a low-profile CPU cooler and of course the tall ones won't fit in most ITX HTPC cases.
Overall Review:
If you're using a 65W A-series proc with this board, then you're probably fine with the noise level of the OEM CPU fan, but if you upgrade to a 100W quad-core, like I did, then it'll be too noisy once you fire up a game or XBMC.
I may end up having to install a Corsair hybrid water cooler to solve the issue. Either than or replace the motherboard.
The dumb thing about the heat spreader issue with the RAM is that this board is marketed for overclocking with performance RAM, which is always going to have tall heat spreaders...

Pros: compact
16gb max memory
PCIE on this little thing!
Cons: FM1 is outdated
Overall Review: I love this board. I'm glad I bought it. When I took it out of the box I was amazed at just how small it actually is.
I was really blown away by the fact that there's a PCI-E slot on this!
