Great board 12/13/2014 4:33:41 AM

Pros: 1. Two years running and still going strong (with fairly heavy use, 2-16 hours a day of constant gameplay)
2. The southbridge fan still works perfectly, I smoke inside which can kill computer fans.
3. Excellent feature that will reset the bios when I have overclocked to unstable conditions and boot up again on its own.
4. The price, not bad at all for a then near top of the line gaming board.

Cons: It was crashing a lot before the bios update, to the point that I was afraid it would crash during the update and cause problems, but it pulled through.

Overall Review: I purchased this board on May 24th 2012 and it has been "rock" solid (slight pun intended). I hate seeing that the few people who do have issues voice their feedback while people like me may not say anything because we don't always talk about how great something is. Well I will say that this board has worked for over two years under heavy daily use. Thanks Asrock for the great product!

New UEFI fixed my lock up issues 8/2/2014 8:58:30 AM

Pros: Overall the board has delivered the performance expected out of a 6-core i7-3930K. The PC is used mostly for gaming and transcoding of Blu-Ray discs, the latter which takes lots of CPU power.

I really like the ability to set default fan speeds (for fans that are plugged into the mobo) to keep the noise down when the PC isn't busy.

The latest UEFI (upgraded from 1.80) fixed my lock up issues (see below).

Cons: I however had one nagging issue that others have mentioned, where the board would just lock up. If there was any audio playing at the time it would go into an infinite loop, a sign that probably the clocks stopped working. The only recourse was a reboot. This happened randomly maybe once or twice a week, while the PC was busy or sitting idle.

Overall Review: i7-3930k w/Hyper 212 cooler
4*4GB G.SKILL Ripjaws DDR3-1866
MSI TwinFrozr HD7970 3GB
Seasonic X650 Gold PSU
Obsidian 650D case
2x SSD (120GB+240GB)
3x 1TB WD HDD

Good features 4/22/2014 7:17:01 AM

Pros: Seems as it would be very easy to OC if you were willing to void your warranty.
lots of PCI-E slots, and 40 channels to make them useable for 3-way sli/Xfire @ 16-16-8 bit.
Very User friendly bios
lots of fan headers

Cons: Drive recognition issues, probably won't be a problem for me but if you intend to use all the sata ports you may be disappointed.

Overall Review: Purchased as a rebuild in tandem with:
i7-4820k IB-E
Cooler Master Seidon 120XL

All components mated flawlessly

On second thought... 2/12/2014 1:15:23 PM

Pros: It has nice stats.

Cons: Many have noted problems where the board does not work at all. But a few like me have had the problem of the computer locking up with an audio loop. Also, there is problem, probably related where it sends irregular voltage throughout most of the ports, like USB which causes some peripherals to go into a detected/undetected cycle. Whats terrible is that the problem is not immediately known as a motherboard issue, but only through the process of elimination and rebuilding the entire rig can it be absolutely certain that it is not other components, or a short from a loose screw or something.

Overall Review: What an incredible waste of my time! It would have been much better if it was DOA than to have it lock up once a week, thus making it take another week to test each single variable change and see if the trouble remains.

I Like This Board 12/16/2013 7:08:28 AM

Pros: Excellent running board, has great features, overclocks well and easily. I like the audio- screams on linux Mint 16. All my computers are dual boot, Windows 8.1 and linux Mint 16 (now that it's out) It rips with a new IB in it!Am replacing my AMD 8 cores with these. The increase in performance with the same vid card you have is mind blowing. I have some GTX480's, playing secondlife online, on a not too busy sim, the fps are 175-200. On a real busy sim with lots of avatars and lots of scripts, it might get below 75fps. What's there not to like lol. It's the best solution for "future proof" Well able to handle a GTX Titan and future "monster" cards they haven't even made yet.I can't really say that about any other solution from Intel or AMD. Think about the your future in gaming. How many times do you want to keep upgrading.

Cons: The board and the proc cost mucho long green money.

Overall Review: The last one of these I bought (about a week ago out of the "new" batch newegg just recieved)has the latest bios , and thats a good thing because I put a new Ivy in it :))

Great while it works 11/28/2013 12:36:57 AM

Pros: Great price for feature board with 3 Pcie 3.0 slots. I run a I7-3930k with an OCZ vertex 4 256 ssd. The UI and bios were smooth and supported mouse which is pretty awesome. Boot times were extremely fast.

Cons: board is toast after no overclocking 8 months in. Awaiting RMA from ASRock

Overall Review: I clean my case regularly, antec 900 case, so I do not believe heat could have been a factor. Did not own long enough to test with SLI either

Worked for 5 months 11/13/2013 5:55:42 PM

Pros: Cheapest ATX board on the market for LGA2011
Works flawlessly with 3930k... again when it works.

Cons: 1. Worked for 5 months then cooked itself (sparks and smoke)

2. Poor customer support… other people warned me before, but I could not believe them till I tried it myself.

Had to call and email twice and finally talked to supervisor to get started RMA process. Also had to provide copy of newegg order with date and price I paid for it. Which was pain and took another 30min for me because I'm buying from newegg computer parts for my customers every day and got good couple hundred invoices already.

Overall Review: I'm a system builder with over 10 years of experience. I was always using Asrock boards on my system builds because of value/price. Sometimes I was buying Asus and Gigabyte when they were on sale. Couple months ago had similar situation with Gigabyte board… RMA process was much easier - they just wanted model # and sn# of the board. Got RMA approval and shipping label couple hours later after submitting RMA request. Week later got new board back.
Now my question to Asrock: Should I stay with you guys or completely switch to Gigabyte or someone else with better customer support?
