The little motherboard that could.

Pros: I purchased this motherboard on 11/01/2011 to use in a mid-range gaming rig / HTPC. Since that time, it's been through heavy usage of 12+ hours a day and I've never had any problems with it. Even when it lost power abruptly a due to bad weather a couple of times, it worked fine when I turned it back on each time.

Cons: It doesn't tuck me in at night and read me a bedtime story.

Good overall board

Pros: Compact
Runs cool & quiet w stock intel fan in a very tight case
SATA3

Used this in an HTPC build using Windows 7 ultimate. Great little board overall. I haven't had any problems with it.

Cons: No included SPDIF header

Had issues when running the "install all" option on the drivers cd. Had to do them one at a time starting with the intel chipset first.

Overall Review: This board does have SPDIF (located right at the end of the PCI-E 16 slot next to the blue cap...zoom in on the picture to see it), but no included header. I built my own using an old RCA video (yellow) cable and a CD/DVD audio header cable I had left over from a previous build. Spliced the cables together, taped them up and it worked first try.

Using stock intel fan, noisy when first starts up but then quiet even when streaming 1080p on a core i3.

Great for HTPC

Pros: CPU fan runs quiet

Cons: I prefer a bit more control over the CPU fan, but this is OK.

Seamless HTPC build for Sandy Bridge

Pros: -Perfect form factor for a truly small HTPC build
-I've been running this nonstop for over a year as my central HTPC, completely did away with all of my cable boxes, with no issues whatsoever

Cons: -Price has actually gone up over time? I bought this for 59.99 in late 2011
-Seems like Ivy Bridge may not be a slam dunk without BIOS update

Overall Review: This pairs well with this small case, I recommend it

Flimsy motherboard

Pros: Good while it lasted. Had it for 8 months. Everything worked great. Built a small HTPC using G530's internal graphics. Didn't like the flickering when playing movies on 1080p. Bought a low wattage videocard and that's when it died on me....

Cons: Installed videocard. System wouldn't post. I thought maybe there wasn't enough power. Took out the videocard and the system still wouldn't post. Checked all connections and system still not posting. I think the M/B died on me. Will be contacting manufacturer.

Great for the price, painful wait required for Ivy Bridge processors

Pros: - Fantastic price
- Good features

Cons: - Cannot OC your processor even though the options exist
- No USB 3
- Wouldn't POST on arrival due to the BIOS issue that has been addressed in other reviews. You must wait for the manufacturer supplied BIOS chip to be mailed to you

Overall Review: It wouldn't POST with my Ivy Bridge i5 3570K. I had to call FoxConn; that was painless -- you just provide your home address and they mail you a tiny chip in 4-5 days. After the BIOS upgrade however, it was smooth sailing.

If you are buying this with an Ivy Bridge processor and dont have a previous generation CPU kicking around to boot and upgrade your BIOS, I'd recommend calling ahead to FoxConn to get your chip so you don't have to sit and stare at your new PC build and drool for a week while you wait.

Cons: This is a pain....
