EVGA Z68 SLI 130-SB-E685-KR LGA 1155 Intel Z68 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 Intel Motherboard

Pros: Had this board for 2 months now and it still runs like a champ. Have the CPU overclock to 4.8GHz and even had it stable at 5GHz, just wanted to back it down for life expectancy reasons. Great BIOS features and plenty of PCI express x1 slots for storage purposes and can Crossfire and SLI for those who prefer AMD or NVidia. Runs stable and love the BIOS reset button on the back where the I/O ports are.

Cons: Lacking USB 3.0 connectors and doesn't have any USB 3.0 plug in spots on the motherboard, which isn't enough for me to knock an egg since I knew this and only have one USB 3.0 flash drive. Once in a while when I turn the PC on, the BIOS automatically goes into the BIOS screen with options, a little annoying, but I think it is because of my USB to PS/2 adapter.

Overall Review: DO YOUR HOMEWORK PEOPLE!!!! I hate when people give bad reviews because they messed up on installation or failed to do homework. This motherboard does not support Ivybridge Yet. EVGA is working on a BIOS update to bring support but it is in progress. Don't knock something for lack of newer generation support. Ultimately not EVGA fault, for not posting lack of support, that is on Newegg. If you want to know if a motherboard supports Ivybridge 1155 socket, go to the manufacturer and do your homework. Unfortunately it does seem EVGA has launched a bad batch of motherboard, and hope they fix it because this board is great on a budget with many abilities. Bad batched of motherboard can and do happen with any manufacturer. EVGA has great return policies. They mail you a new one and then you send in the bad one. Just call the support lines, they have great customer service.

Pros: It works. Finally

Cons: I got the C post error. After testing multiple psu's I found only an old 300w psu would post the board, didn't seem right so I advanced RMA'd it wasting $30. By wasting I mean when I got the replacement board it did the same thing. So after arguing with EVGA support they pretty much admitted to me that this Z68 board only seems to work with atx12v models vers. 2.2 AND is most compatible with Corsair and Thermaltake models. Seriously? A picky motherboard? So I was basically told to keep getting psu's until I found one that works with it, who really has the money to buy psu after psu? This is a huge fail on EVGA's part and after doing further research, has happened on other mobos' including their new Z77 line.

Overall Review: After wasting money on RMAing and psu search AND heated arguments with EVGA support, I will not do another build with a EVGA motherboard again. Please do your research before considering this model.

Pros: Quality parts and looks quality as well, great EVGA support. They include thermal paste which is quality stuff too. Nice I/O shield and all the usb and other ports you need. Easy to use BIOS.

Cons: A lot, the first two I received were posting C code errors. Once I received a third I knew that couldn't be right, contacted support we came to the conclusion that the PSU isn't...compatible with this mobo, two high quality PSUs weren't compatible... I had to buy a thermaltake 750 modular to get this to work properly, but has been fine since. Also this mobo will not go to 2133mhz with G.skill sniper ram, so I wasted the extra money for 2133mhz RAM. Both of these problems are very COMMON and there is no known list of "compatible PSUs". When did motherboards become picky on what supply's it's power... All 3 boards had a minor curve in the CPU area and produce a cracking sound when you fasten down your CPU lever. The boards heat sinks are not very impressive either, all 3 had SLI bridges that look "kinked" slightly.

Overall Review: Don't buy this board, the only thing I've had that has been bad from EVGA.

Pros: Flashing Red E Light

Cons: Post Code C with a Corsair HX1000W power supply.Jumped through all of EVGAs loops to get it working none of them work looks like a bad board not willing to take a chance on an RMA will just jump back to Asus boards.Tested the power supply on 2 different motherboards and no problems with it.

Overall Review: I have a feeling EVGA is aware of these problems with this board and still make you jump through hoops to get an RMA.So I will just send it back to Newegg not worth the time to keep trying with an RMA motherboard.Lesson learned and I am sure I will have to fight to get a free return.

Pros: Works fine with no problems. A good mobo.

Cons: The mail in rebate had a 30 day expiration from the day of purchase. Most all mail-in-rebates don't have this and since it's not standard practice EVGA should let the consumer know that such a fast expiration date exists. A little disappointed.

Pros: One star because it boots and runs fine, and another because I didn't look at it closely enough to see how badly it was designed.

Cons: The two PCI express slots only have 1 slot in between them. When you use a good video card that takes up 2 slots there's only a space a few hairs thick between them. My GPU went from a max of ~70C up to ~90C after putting them in this new board because they couldn't get enough air.

Overall Review: As long as you don't use the second PCI express slot it's a good board. This board may be technically capable of SLI, but it should be never used. I had to get another mobo because now that's summer my system was crashing because of the heat. My GPU temps are back down to ~70C max with my new board which has plenty of room between the cards.

Pros: None that I can think of since it doesn't boot.

Cons: Doesn't boot with known working Sandy bridge G620. Tried two different working power supplies and two brands of memory. The board will power up but it will not boot. Went through the mfg. trouble shooting guidelines with no joy. Sent it back to New Egg at my expense and they rejected the return because I have removed the barcode to meet the very limited rebate time frame This requirement was not listed on the RMA info from Newegg. ;().! Newegg suggests I send it to the mfg but they already told me to ship it back to New egg since it was within their 30 day window.

Overall Review: I don't mind getting a defective part once in a while , but since this board is known to have major issues why did Newegg sell it to me in the first place?

Overall Review: Here's the thing about this board. You NEED a v2.2 power supply, I have v2.3 and that still wasn't compatible. Do a google search for 'evga z68 c error' and the first result is from EVGAs site. If you have Sandybridge and you have a v2.2 power supply I'm sure this board is great, but for everyone else it's a brick.
