I have a Sata 3 SSD and my board only has Sata 2 capability. Will this card boot up my new SATA 3 at 6 gb per second or will it just boot up as Sata 2 because my Motherboard is restricted to sata 2. So with that said and if you said that this will boot up as Sata 3 then my next question is this. The Sata drive is the main drive that holds my games and OS. Can this card boot up my OS without complication or any extra things? I'm using this to run our tape backups so I've never tested to see if it's bootable. I can say that on our old Dell server it does perform the backups at Sata 3 speeds. It cut down the time on my backups substantially.
