Works for Netgear Pro Business Edition or Pro 6

Pros: Netgear used an unusual PSU for their 6 bay x86 boxes. This PSU has the same part number on the label as the original one. It fits and will connect with no modification to the pin out on the main connector.

Cons: The main power connector on the stock unit is 19" long, the main 24 pin connector on this unit has 12" wires. Be sure to order the 8" extension with this PSU. There are 3 molex and 1 - 4 pin (to the MB) on the original and 4 molex, 2 sata, 1-4 pin (to the MB) plus two floppy connectors on this PSU. I had a spare sata male to molex converter so I wouldn't have to re-pin the sata cable, So if I were you I would buy a sata male to molex converter so as to have three leads powering the NAS unit instead of having 1 lead power 4 HDD and another lead power 2 HDD . I would clippe the excess connectors as close to the molex as possible and clipped the floppy connector right off, they seem to block air flow and figured the less wire the more for airflow, but only do this if you don't care about the warranty.

Overall Review: Even though the numbers match up on the Model PSU I wish the company just had an exact duplicate PSU as the Ready Nas so I wouldn't have to do any modifications. I bought 2 so I would have piece of mind in the future.

Works for Netgear Pro, Pro 6 and Ultra 6 NAS

Pros: Netgear used an unusual PSU for their 6 bay x86 boxes. This PSU has the same part number on the label as the original one. It fits and will connect with no modification to the pin out on the main connector.

Cons: The main power connector on the stock unit is 19" long, the main 24 pin connector on this unit has 12" wires. Be sure to order the 8" extension with this PSU. There are 3 molex and 1 4 pin (to the MB) on the original, 4 molex, 2 sata, 1 4 pin (to the MB) plus two floppy connectors on this PSU. Either clip of the excess connectors (I just zip tied them up). If they seem to block air flow, then I will clip them off.

Overall Review: A reasonable priced power supply to restore your Netgear x86 6 bay NAS to service. If your unit is still under warranty, you can pay the extra and return it to Netgear for a refurbished unit. I would rather spend the $50 for this PSU and extension and keep my original unit. (I also ordered a spare since they are available and I have several of the 6 bay units.

Works

Pros: Has been running a lot for almost a year. Has not failed.

Cons: Ugly shade of grey. Fan juts out of the side, making it bulky.

Pretty Good

Pros: Good solid compact power supply. Fits in my ten year old CHENBRO PC40522-BK Black SECC MicroATX case perfectly. For over a year it has run an AMD Athlon X3 or Phenom X3 just fine on an AMD 780G chipset board, powering two HDD and 4 fans. Given me no trouble until...

Cons: Not Haswell Ready :-(

Upgraded to an Intel i3 4300 on an GA-H81M-DS2V mobo and, well, everything is okay until I start to play World of Tanks, then it crashes. Admittedly this is probably beyond the design scope, so I can't really complain. Don't know if it just needs those extra four pins for the CPU 12v power (it's got just one 2x4 connector, the board can take two connectors), or it's just the sheer power drain.

Overall Review: Has one cable with two SATA power connectors, but two molex cables with oodles of connectors...don't know why they think they need so many molex. With one HD, one SSD, and one DVD, i had to get a molex to SATA power adapter, no big deal. Also, no pci-ex power connector, but then again, just got a molex adapter.

I've upgraded to the SILVERSTONE ST45SF 450W SFX12V 80 PLUS bronze and it's the little pwrsup that could.

review update do not trust this psu

Pros: worked great when it worked. stable voltage . warning !!!!

read other thoughts

Cons: burnt out motherboard. two router lan socket even the inputs on my 42inch lcd monitor

Overall Review: i was using this with a intel 35w cpu setup. the max wattage it used was 66watts. it was a security camera server DVR on all the time 24/7
I came home the other day it was 96f in the room where this was setup and the computer was off .

to make a long story short. the computer was burnt out, even the lan socket and the lan socket next to the one this computer was connected to non functional on a asus ac66 router burnt out . the 42 inch lcd monitor inputs are all burnt out. this power supply cost me a fortune.

i have 2 security dvr's one has a pc power and cooling power supply next to this one and all fine no problem

i always used pc power and cooling power supplies and they not failed me even under extreme heat conditions over 100f .very sorry i didn't this time with this computer. am i upset what you think ? fuming mad want to sue seesonic

i know it not the best being its a non standard form factor still seesonic is a good brand and this never should have happened.

i have even used cheepo power supplies $16 real cheepos didn't even do this. yes they failed but with out damaging anything

i so upset about this you have no idea and have lost faith

i do have seesonics fanless top ratted power supply and its one of the best . it works way beyond it ratted specs even in extreme temps and confirmed by many professional reviews. i wanted as small of a footprint as possible with mini itx case and this power supply.

it not worth it, going back to cases that use standard power supplies. it would have been one things if this power supply just failed but for it to burn out my 42inch lcd monitors inputs. the monitor works just the inputs are burnt out and the routers ports the computer was plugged into. come on. this power supply can not be trusted and is garbage

i suppose if you have ac on all the time and keep temps under 80f it will be fine otherwise don't buy this power supply.

Manufacturer Response:
Hi, this is a very strange review considering you say the power supply also damaged your router & inputs on your monitor. Our power supplies come with the necessary protection features to safeguard your PC components.

But, if you are unfortunate to have a lightening strike or some other aggressive AC surge, then it is possible the PSU cannot protect your system components. I kindly ask that you start a RMA with Sea Sonic USA and we will test your power supply for you. If you have any questions, please contact me at newegg@seasonicus.com Thank you.

Great *replacement* PSU

Pros: Compact, solid, high quality, very efficient. Fit into a Silverstone SG05 case great.

Cons: Knocked off an egg because this is best as a *replacement* PSU. What arrived was just the PSU. No screws to bolt it to a case. No power cord to connect it to the wall. If you've built a ton of boxes, you have screws/cords to spare.

But, if you're building a very first computer, I recommend a different model that comes with all the parts.

Good when it workes

Pros: Silent

Cons: First one did not boot up the computer. It turned power on and then off after about 5 seconds. Sat dead for about 15 seconds, then turned power on again, only to turn it off again after 5 seconds. Over and over. Returned it at my expense. The second one works fine though.

Manufacturer Response:
Hi Hannu, Sorry for your PSU experience. The reboot situation sounds quite strange. Was it possibly a connector not properly fitted to cause a short circuit? I am glad the repalcement unit worked fine. If you have any troubles in the future, please let us know at: newegg@seasonicus.com Thank You.
