IS THIS READER 3.5" SIZE?

Yes, it fits in a 3.5" bay. There were not any mounting holes on the bottom of the unit, but have the standard side holes like a floppy drive. My customer was very happy and bought a second for another system.

Please explain all the connector types that are required for connections to the motherboard.?

This unit's wire connectors are nicely designed, much better than the older units I have installed - there are 3, plus the 2 wire standard power connector. The connectors are a female 9 pin for UBS, a female 19 pin for USB3 and the SATA connector. These are ~27" long. A reason for fewer connections is the unit doesn't have audio I/O, or firewire.
