Excellent HDD

Pros: Easy to install

Cons: More instructions would be nice for those not familiar with installing an HDD into a new build (not myself but for others)

Overall Review: Very fast HDD even having some parsed for booting.

Great Drive, excellent customer service by Western Digital...

Pros: I've been using WD for a long time and the drives are rock solid.

Cons: Nothing.

Overall Review: I use this drive to store some of the most important files I have. But considering that the 128MB cache just came out, I'd say get that one, the more cache the better the drive is and I've used the 64MB and the 128MB is faster at reading and writing.

Ordered for a dead drive.. (Or was it?)

Pros: Hard drive... Lot of space.

Cons: Haven't installed it yet...

Overall Review: My WD green decided one day to take a few days off. Lost access to my music and pictures.. So I ordered this drive to use when that drive does kick off for good. I reinstalled a driver and boom. Drive is back.. and has been back ever since. But nothing wrong with extra space.

Great storage drive

Pros: Inexpensive, reliable, lots of space, plenty fast enough for a storage/media drive, not that bad for loading a game even.

Cons: Subject to frequent, annoying, drive park clicking noise in Ubuntu and Ubuntu based Linux distributions by default. The park click is pretty loud in general (louder than the 1TB WD Blue it replaced).

Overall Review: This is a rebadged WD Green drive. Don't expect it to perform as well the 7200RPM WD Blue drives, because it won't.

Pros: nothing

Cons: - drive was DOA; won't even spin up. just sits there making a pathetic whir/click sound. is never recognized; tried on 3 computers.
- didn't bother to open the box with the second drive. why bother.
- these were supposed to replace two drives (samsung) which are getting old. ha.

Overall Review: I had not bought a WD hard drive in years because the quality was so bad. Seems things haven't changed - at all. Save money and aggravation; buy a drive that works.

As a troubleshooting step, please connect the drive as a secondary storage on different SATA port of the computer. We would recommend to connect the drive on different computer and test the health of the drive using Data Lifeguard Diagnostic for Windows or First Aid using Disk Utility on Mac by following the instructions given in the links below.

Works exactly as it's meant to.

Pros: - Not much to say, if you need a HDD, this is sufficient.

Cons: - Maybe not a problem with this, specifically, but I have had strangely long disk allocating times through Steam when installing games to this HDD, not always, only once in a while.
