Pros: Great Drive. Nice for my Nas.

Cons: I purchased it before the sales went into effect. Newegg would not price match them selves. Quite a disappointment. I have been a loyal Newegg customer for over 10 years. Company has really changed in there customer appreciation.

Overall Review: Great drive I should have waited to purchase but I thought with in 3 days newegg would have price matched them self.

Failed/junk 45 Days in use. 12/10/2019 3:23:59 PM

Pros: None.

Cons: Go through the headache of opening a home server up and finding correct dead drive.. replace and it dies again in 45 days. Last one lasted 6 months in raid 1. I have WD Reds with Raid 1 - 2tb and 6tb that have lasted years. But these 3tb's are junk. They should pay me for my wasted time.

Overall Review: WD drives seem to be going down hill. I've had drives last years until the last year or two and now they all seem to give up in a year or two at most. Low load media server with MADAM Ubuntu raid1 setup. Same setup for years. Time to move away from WD? Likely referb sent out and repackaged. TDT Technology. Stay away and its not returnable even after only 45 days.

Pros: Not really hard to set up. Activate it, format it the way you want and your ready to use it.
I had an average transfer rate of 100 mb/s.

Overall Review: Where do you find reliable drives anymore? 2 eggs because they lasted 3.5 years. I had old Seagates and Maxtors that lasted over 10 years. This drive was in a fairly light duty application for this WD in a NAS. I just spent 24+ hours salvaging data. Are these like all non-american built appliances now with a built in failure? Planned obselescence? Search the lightbulb conspiracy.

As a troubleshooting step, please test the drive on Windows using our Data Lifeguard Diagnostics program. If it passes the test we recommend testing another drive bay or SATA port on your system.

If the test is unfortunately inconclusive and you just purchased the drive then you should be able to return it to the place of purchase. However, if you are past their return policy, you can create an RMA through WD and replace the drive under warranty if necessary.
