An Experience Only 4K Can Deliver: Professional 31.5" 4K UHD Monitor with 3840 x 2160 Resolution

  • 31.5-Inch 4K display with ultra-high definition (UHD) 3840 x 2160 resolution and 140 pixels per inch (PPI) for impeccable visuals
  • An anti-glare, LED-backlit IGZO display delivers crisp, precise images with energy efficiency with an ultra-wide viewing angle
  • DisplayPort and dual HDMI ports, Picture-by-Picture function, and built-in dual 2-Watt stereo speakers
  • The thinnest 4K monitor available, the PQ321Q is wall-mountable with full tilt, swivel, and height adjustment

Phenomenal 4K Visuals

The ASUS PQ321Q True 4K UHD monitor provides stunning visuals with an ultra-high definition 3840 x 2160 resolution. The anti-glare 31.5-inch LED-backlit UHD display has a 16:9 aspect ratio and 140 pixels per inch (PPI) for highly-detailed visuals.

Over 8 Million Pixels

By doubling the number of horizontal and vertical pixels, the PQ321Q True 4K UHD monitor gives you every bit of detail, far surpassing that of a Full HD monitor. With four times the resolution of Full HD (FHD) and over 8 million pixels, you'll experience larger screen real estate and clarity you'll have to see to believe.

10-Bit Color for Smoother Gradations

The ASUS PQ321Q True 4K UHD monitor is a 10-bit RGB panel that delivers more natural transitions between different hues and offers a more flawless image than ever before.

Premium IGZO Display

The ASUS PQ321Q True 4K UHD monitor is built with an anti-glare Indium Gallium Zinc Oxide (IGZO) panel rather than traditional amorphous silicon. The IGZO panel supports much smaller transistors than amorphous silicon, which allows for much smaller pixels and much better detail. Couple that with ultra-wide, 176-degree viewing angles on both vertical and horizontal planes, and you get a pristine image from virtually any angle. What's more, the IGZO panel supports increased pixel transparency and reduced current leakage for increased energy savings.

Extensive Connectivity

The ASUS PQ321Q True 4K UHD monitor features DisplayPort and dual-HDMI ports inputs to connect to your various devices and PCs simultaneously. Built-in 2W stereo speakers simplify free space from needing separate speakers for a complete audio visual experience.

Picture-by-picture (PBP) mode splits the screen down the middle to display content from two separate sources side-by-side to view images from different signals and easily switch between the main and PBP source, including audio.

Slim Profile with Ergonomic Design

The thinnest 4K monitor available, the ASUS PQ321Q True 4K UHD monitor measure only 1 3/8 inches (35mm) at its thickest point, showcasing a modern design fit for anywhere in the home or office.

Pixel-Perfect Coverage

The PQ321Q comes with a three-year warranty as well as a Zero Bright Dot guarantee that ensures full replacement if there's so much as one bright dot pixel. Plus, ASUS Rapid Replacement provides fast and free replacement in no time at all with cross-shipping that sends you a replacement unit as soon as a defective one is in the mail.

Broken product with no support from Asus at all

Pros: 4K looks beautiful

Cons: Screen goes black
Light bleed
Resolution upscaling support nearly non-existent
Dead pixels
Bright pixels
Sometimes has to power cycle to get it to display a picture
Customer service dept is rude
Warranty dept is useless

Other Thoughts: This is the WORST monitor I've ever bought. I don't even know where to begin with the number of problems this thing has given me.

1. First one I got was DOA. Had to replace it.
2. Second one (currently using) has multiple dead pixels and bright pixels.
3. Light bleed everywhere, any time there's a black screen there's bright pixels scattered, and purple-ish smear on the sides and corners.
4. About 1-20x a day the monitor will just go black on one side for 15 seconds. The picture will have a black bar that starts on the bottom right and expands upward until the entire right 50% of the screen is black, and then go back down. 5-30 seconds will elapse and then the same thing will happen to the left side of the monitor. I have tried multiple cables (Displayport and HDMI) on multiple video cards and it still does the same thing.
5. Sometimes the monitor just won't display a picture wwhen awaking from sleep, unless you power it off and back on again. Once or twice.
6. After 5 calls to Asus, being hung up on multiple times, and laughed at by some Indian guy when I described my problems, I finally get it sent it in to warranty. They paid for shipping but I was on my own to spend $60 on box and packing materials.

They told me they'd send me a refurb monitor. About a month later I recevied the same monitor back (I could tell from some markings on the back.) There has been no change. All of the issues persist. At this point, I don't even want it anymore, nor do I wish to purchase another Asus product again. This company has failed repeatedly to make the situation right. If this is the kind of treatment I can expect after purchasing their top of the line flagship product, then what can be expected from purchasing anything else from them?

Buyer beware. Maybe I got a lemon, maybe this product overall just sucks. But if you have any problems with it, good luck getting Asus to help you. You're on your own.

Works great

Pros: Great resolution, works just as expected.
I don't use it for gaming, so I can't speak to issues in that respect, but as a normal desktop monitor, it's great.

Cons: Not exactly cheap.

I like it, a lot

Pros: I just purchased this monitor, and I like it. I did my research first, and in the last 12 months a lot of things in the 4k display market have changed (completely) so an update is in order.

In August of 2013 with the display was first sold the MSPR was $3,500. I paid about half that in September 2014.

At introduction NVIDIA drivers did not support less than 3 displays (as in two) in surround mode and that is necessary to properly drive a ASUS PQ321Q from an NVIDIA card. That issue is completely resolved and setup is a very simple procedure.

1) hit INPUT MENU button on the display and select DisplayPort.

2) Hit MENUENTER button on the display, down to SETUP, then under "DisplayPort Stream" select MST. (then SET)

The above two steps can be done on the display even with out being connected to a PC, in fact I would recommend doing it before you connect to the PC via the Display Port cable. If you then just turn on the PC the OS should properly recognize the display and set it up as 3840x2160 at 60 Hz. It can be that quick and simple to setup.

The PQ321Q works out to 140 pixels per inch which is terribly fine compared to 30" 2560x1600 which is about 100 pixels perinch; but easy to solve with windows 8.1 which allows you to change a system wide zoom at the same resolution.

Some other thoughts that may be helpful. I had a pair of 30" Dell displays (2560x1600) 100 dpi and replaced a bad display with the PQ321Q. The Dell display is about 27.25" wide and the ASUS is about 29.38" wide; only 2" wider.

The 30" Dell Screen is 15.75" tall (just the screen not including the bezels) while the ASUS screen is 15.25"; by aligning the top of the two screens the two displays look and function well together.

For folks who need a lot of screen real estate for business and graphics applications this is a blessing.

Cons: Gaming in 4k in contrast is not so straight forward as of Oct 2014. The only games I play often are Skyrim and Half Life 2. All I had to do was open NVIDIA GeForce Experience and change the screen resolution (over ride Optimized settings). In my case a single GTX 780 drives either game at maximum resolution and full eye candy at very playable frame rates.

Those games would exceptions in that they place very modest demands on graphics cards. If you have an interest in serious gaming in 4k with serious games I would do a lot of research on SLI setups on the newest and most powerful graphics cards. As of this week a pair of best (most powerful) graphics cards will provide 30-60 FPS in many but not all games. If you think 60 FPS is the lowest playable frame rate for games you may be disappointed, not in the display but in the game play.

Following NVIDA in the news some expect something MUCH better than the GTX 970 and GTX 980 before this Christmas.

Something on the smaller die, something with two GPU on one card like the GTX 690? But right now there are some game, a lot of games that can bring two way SLI of any two cards to their knees.

I glad I have the monitor. I will use it a short while and if (Lawd are you listening?) NVIDA comes out with a $1,000 monster designed for 4k gaming for Christmas I'll be listening.

Other Thoughts: I purchased the PQ321Q in part because of 3 bad 30" Dell displays in a row. With anyone else on line other than Newegg the situation might have worked out much less satisfactorily. In all I purchased 4 displays and returned 3 displays in little over a month. While a trying and disappointing experience Newegg was always very cooperative and very professional during those very awkward times.

Asus support can be good or bad, I did call ASUS display support who spoke English but was completely clueless, I hung up on him. I ended up calling EVGA support (their graphics card) and was overjoyed with the quality of cheerful, capable and informed help.

Backlight Bleeding is Terrible

Pros: Cheaper than Dell or Sharp...

Cons: This display is overpriced trash. There is a terrible backlight bleed on the edges. I ordered three of these displays and each of them had backlight bleeding in different parts of the display, some worse then others. Not acceptable on a $2500 monitor.... I called Asus and their oh so helpful support had no idea what a backlight bleed was. I explained it and all I got was I should exchange it with NewEgg. But if three displays all show this conflict I am pretty sure it is only to be the same with my replacement. I did some research and a review online notes the same problem.

Other Thoughts: I wanted to love this monitor because it is $1000 to $1500 cheaper then the Sharp display and it uses the same Sharp panel inside. But the quality of this monitor is horrible for the price. If you can wait for 4k, do so. I'm returning these displays. I may purchase the Sharp PN-K321 instead.

If you do buy this monitor make sure you look at it with an all black image displayed. An easy way to see backlight bleeding.

Great for software development

Pros: Awesome picture quality: colors, brightness, resolution, viewing angles. Significantly increases productivity of software development. Stays cool after working for many hours.

Cons: Not configured for 60fps by default. But it is easy to apply firmware via service USB port and switch monitor to MST mode to run at 60fps.

Other Thoughts: I bought the monitor for software development, to replace my aging 24" HP professional monitor. It was delivered free in 1 day! I loved my old HP monitor, but what a difference!!! New monitor is about 30% larger (visually), and shows great picture. Feels like it displays as much information as 4 old 24" monitors.
I attached it via the included DisplayPort cable. The GTX680X video card already had latest driver. Fonts in Windows 7 looked small initially, but shortly I started liking the fonts size (I installed VCCommands plugin for VS). Do not want to see my old HP monitor anymore.
IGZO is new, totally superior technology. I have played a few games, and was very impressed. Also tested it with 4K videos. Before purchase I made research, and found that Dell, HP and Lenovo monitors are not up to the level yet.
Best monitor I ever saw in my life!

More screen space than I need

Pros: Sharp image
Rich colors
Easy to set up

Cons: Small text
Needs high end video card.

Other Thoughts: Great monitor however unless $3500 mean little or nothing, I wouldn't buy a monitor with this high resolution unless you use many applications that really benefit from such high resolution. A stock trader or anyone who needs many applications to be running at the same time could make great use of this. For just basic web browsing this monitor is total overkill.
