Logitech’s SetPoint software allows you to customize your mouse with advanced features such as game detection and in-game adjustable sensitivity, including independent x- and y-axis settings. The grip offers natural right-hand position for firm control and fatigue-free mousing. No matter what your gaming style, you’re sure to find winning control with the G5!
Pros:
-Weight adjustments is so keen.
-Loved the software and settings.
-Easy to dissembled, clean and reassemble.
-Lasted 7+ years
Cons:
-Lost in a totaled car while moving!!!
-Now cost $400!!!!! OH MY, F...!!! Originally bought this mouse I think for $60-70 in early 2000s
Overall Review: This mouse has been my most favorite mouse of all time, I bought it at $60 however...... Now I know this mouse was disconnected for a long while and this had made me very sad, so I learned to fix it myself. Then had a tragic accident.. were the mouse was lost and again I was sad... Now I am happy again this mouse is back!!!!! Hopefully the software has been getting new update for support with things as it was, only giving this a 4 star rating because this mouse is now $400.. We get it, it came out of the woodwork for a second round... buuut dang, $400?? Please can you send me one!!! I'll take good care of her this time round, Thanks guys!
Pros: Mouse is going on 8 years old. It has become a natural extension to my PC use. I've tried a half dozen mice in that time and I can't find a single one like better than this mouse.
Cons: Apparently it is literally worth its weight in gold, as of today 1/3/17 buying a new one costs $400
Overall Review: What am I gonna do when this thing finally dies?
Pros: Worked good while it lasted 5 years
Cons: Older mx518 is still going... and this newer one took a dump.
Overall Review:
get a g400s and call it a day.
Maybe next time I'll write reviews sooner... LOL
Pros: Good for gaming. Allowed me to adjust how heavy it was. I like a heavier mouse for gaming and when I take long breaks from games I can take out the extra weights. I bough this in Oct 208 and have still had no issues with it.
Cons: The stiff protectant sleeve over the cord rubbed away at the spot where the cord hangs over the ledge of the desk. I guess the corner/ledge rubbing on it for years eventually rubbed it away. Never really bothered me though.
Pros: This mouse lasted a very long time.
Cons: Cord was stiff.
Pros: I have been playing computer games since the mid '80s and in my wasted life i cannot recommend another mouse. In a perfect world Logitech would listen to what their clients say, and refuse to end production of a formula that works. refuse to cheapen it or change it in any way. this was the perfect mouse. this mouse has had the cord shortened 4 times by myself, gingerly resoldering the wires. i have worn the feet nearly completely off. i know i will have to retire it, and i know i will never find another.
Cons: making me fall in love with a transient object is unkind. denying me an equivalent replacement unforgivable.
Pros:
This is still the best mouse I have ever used and it's from 2008!
Perfect fit for small handed righties!
Great wheel that spins just right and has the added 3 buttons which can be used easily!
It has 2 side buttons that come in handy!
This is a 4 1/2 rated mouse to me. It has to loose a 1/2 for the horrible inner button placement, although I'm not so sure where else they could have put it?
Same exact mouse after going through 3 new keyboards because of wear!
You think it would be the other way around.
It's still supported in Windows 7 Pro and Windows 8.1 as well.
I know other mice have even higher DPI numbers but you really do reach a point of excess that is meaningless in gaming!
Nice USB cable that's cloth covered and has lasted forever!
I'm still surprised that the weights have stayed in place all these years!
I have only seen one mouse that I was considering buying and it's a wired optical with more buttons and is under $50.
Cons:
The inner second side button is so difficult to reach it's almost useless!
It can be used but I practically have to stop everything to move my hand to reach it, which makes it a big compromise!
Most games will not recognize the scroll wheels side to side buttons!
The software is useless now with Windows 7 and 8.1
Overall Review:
Although this is a dated laser mouse I picked it up for only $40 when it sold new for about $100 back in 2004!
It's not the best mouse for extra buttons but it has one nice side button along with a great wheel that has 3 buttons top push, and side to side.
This is by all accounts a one of the best and first laser mice ever designed and works great after 7 years of use!
I have read all the reviews about the new versions of the Logitech laser mice and they certainly do not last like this one has.
The new laser mice designed by every company will not hold up for more than 2 years tops!
Razer, Logitech, Corsair, and all the others just don't have the build quality of this version.
This mouse works just as well as the first day I bought it!
This was the first and very copied personally weighted mouse!
My friend can't believe how fast this mouse can move when he gets on my computer for normal operations!
He's like "How do I slow this mouse down?"
Now I have this so perfectly weighted and the speed set so perfect that head kills in COD are so easy I max that out in every game within a couple of hours!
In the same CODAD game my friend on his PS4 took until at least half way through the game to reach the head shot max!
I have always hated those stupid PlayStation controllers although they are still better than the Xbox controller which is a joke to me!
I am so use to this mouse that anything different would feel very foreign in my hand.
Mice have gotten much cheaper as well as going back to the optical realm for some of the better gaming mice.
I don't understand it but I do understand that I get plenty of DPI with this laser mouse and don't need any more.
The best $40 I ever spent on a mouse at B.B. discontinued sale of more than 50% off!
I never thought I would still be using the same mouse while I have now gone through 3 different keyboards because of wear!
One Eclipse with blue LEDs, one Cyborg (Same exact keyboard with red LEDs), and now a new mechanical keyboard that I just bought in December of 2014!

Pros: I Bought this mouse in 2006 and I'm writing this review in 2018. You tell me the pros.
Cons: Uhh... I bought it over 12 years ago and now its hundreds of dollars. WTfoxtrot?
Overall Review: This mouse had a warranty of "2 million clicks" or something. It's well surpassed that. 12 years of gaming with this mouse and it's been perfect. I try to find a replacement because I lost the weight cartridge, and bam, $400.00. This thing was perfect. Can somebody figure out why they jacked up the price?
