Does this printer print an exact 1" (one inch) wide label?

No, The actually size of the 1" tape is .940 wide and the software that comes with the machine will not let you print all the way to the sides. There is a margin top and bottom. I recall someone saying that you could use a 3rd party software that would let you utilize all of the tape, top and bottom.
