Does this create a new network and just extends it? Or will connected devices be able to access network resources as I would on the original/same network?

The device can only be configured to act as an access point (which is essentially a specialized kind of bridge; it bridges wifi to ethernet).
Devices connecting via wifi will appear just like devices connected via ethernet.

No it is not designed for that.  It barely works as an access point--I stopped using it after a few months because it was extremely unreliable.

If you intend to connect the DAP-1525 booster to an existing router via wire or wifi and then connect your VOIP adapter to this booster configured as an access point then it should work fine.

Will this work as a wireless bridge to connect an ATT microcell to a wireless network, which needs 1.5 Gb download speed?

No it wont as max download speed over wifi is about 300 MBit/sec. Ethernet ports spec is 1 Gbit/sec.

Andre, I bought this not knowing any better. I wanted it to act as relay to the wireless tablet devices in the house. But that was not how it worked. Mine refused to take on any tasks besides acting as a router.  It did not amplify signal strength wireless devices.

I ended up getting two small Transcend plugins that do work fine for extending signals to wireless. Set them up, plug them in and they work.

Probably the best folks to ask about the 'bridge' actions of this thing is DLink.  But as a bridge I think you could find less expensive or complex solutions.

Will this work with the verizon actiontec M1424WR rev F?

If you are asking will it act as a wireless access point with the Verizon FIOS router, the answer is probably. The FIOS router works with n wireless that the d-link DAP- 1525 uses. If you hook up a gaming console, a blue ray player, or an AV receiver, it shouldl connect wirelesly to your router.
