If you have an empty PCI slot, I don't see why this wouldn't work. I used this on my HTPC build on an ASROCK motherboard and it works great.

Granted I do not use it for gaming, rather I use it to stream Netflix and other video/audio services which it does so perfectly and w/o issue.

It was easy to configure and get running. My HTPC to which this card is installed is probably 30-50 feet from the router and it picks up signal just fine.

is this compatiable with windows 7?

Compatible with Win7 and with Win XP even. I'm using this on a dual boot volume machine running both of those, and it works fine in both modes. Be forewarned you may have to download the most recent drivers for anything other than Win 8 from the manufacturer support site.

I returned that unit, and got the PCI Express WDN4800. But Yes, the WN951N does come with a low profile adapter.

I get a very solid signal when my desktop computer is approximately 100 feet from my access point with two sheetrock wals in between.

Yes, That is the OS I use, but I think I had to get the drivers from their website. It's been a while since I bought it, works good.

This WiFi card comes with a low-profile bracket which will allow it to fit into the PCI expansion slot available on the small form factor version of the OptiPlex 760. Note: The ULTRA small form factor version has no available expansion slots to support any WiFi card. As far as OS compatibility, I have installed this card in several Win XP 32 & 64-bit PCs as well as a Win 8.1 64-bit PC with no problems.
