Super satisfied with this one! 6/2/2017 10:54:52 AM

Pros: + Very lightweight
+ Very fast
+ Excellent screen (Samsung OLED)
+ Great keyboard
+ Up to 10 hours of battery life based on my personal use

Cons: - Mini HDMI port instead of the regular HDMI

Overall Review: Highly recommend this product. It's almost perfect for me as a Computer Science student since it's fast, lightweight, and has great battery life. The only thing that I don't like about it is that it has a mini-HDMI port instead of a regular one, so I could rarely use it for presentations.

Top Lightweight Notebook 9/30/2016 9:16:32 AM

Pros: When my Sony VAIO Laptop began to wear out, I took a few months to shop for its replacement. I'm a professional software developer, so making the right selection was a non-trivial matter. My primary criteria were 1) speed, 2) screen quality and resolution, 3) size, weight and ergonomics, and last but not least 4) a backlit keyboard. I am willing to pay for quality but hate to waste my money, so price was also significant. After evaluating at least a fifty different models from many vendors, I finally settled on the Samsung 13" Notebook 9. I checked prices on the Internet and discovered that only $3 separated the high and low prices. Going with Newegg was a no-brainer as I've never had a negative experience in the many years I've done business with them. As I've used the notebook for three days now, I have to say it's the best I've owned and I'm fully satisfied on all counts. Samsung's reputation for quality electronics leads me to assume that the notebook will give years of service.

UPDATED after 2 1/2 months use. This notebook is even better than I expected it to be. Not only does Samsung not ship with bloatware, but the Samsung utilities and update process work flawlessly. I'm extremely happy with the purchase and would recommend this notebook to my friends.

Cons: They only negative comment I might have is that the RAM is soldered to the motherboard and is therefore not up-gradable. I was aware of this fact before purchase and the on-board RAM is more than adequate for my purposes.

Overall Review: Those at work who have seen my new notebook have been duly impressed. It is easily the lightest computer I've owned and the 13.3" 1920x1080 screen is a thing of beauty. We're primarily a Macintosh shop and there were many comments about it being at least as good as a MacBook Air for $600 less. All that and no bloatware.

Very good and not so 9/26/2016 8:41:11 AM

Pros: The computer was all that is was advertised to be. It is extremely light weight and does what it was intended to do. The screen is excellent and the keyboard is very comfortable. It boots up promptly and

Cons: For the past month I have had difficulty when I start up the machine. Usually it requires one or two restarts for the programs to load, but recently I had to wipe and start from scratch. As I keep little directly on the machine it was not a major problem, but the errors keep coming all of which are related to not being able to access the drive properly.

Samsung never disappoints 6/24/2016 7:48:48 AM

Pros: This Laptop is sleek, sturdy, and responsive with the i5 processor. Multi touch mouse pad is quite impressive and comparable to a Mac. This thing is super light, and could become a frisbee when it gets outdated. It's very thin, and perfect for on the go or business. Its hardware is nice with 1866 MHz memory.

Shortcuts seem to be easily found on the keyboard and can be found in the manual.

Cons: Bluetooth is terrible

Glossy screen...

OS consumes to much memory..

Not sure if it is Windows 10, mouse issues, or lag time, but the mouse movements at times can be instantly delayed at first touch when you want to move it to a very precise location. It wasn't enough to cause me to RMA it, but once you stop trying to use the clicks it will become less noticeable.

Windows 10 is good in that it's easy to navigate, but there are still issues with it. I had to wipe setting and re-install it (not hard to do btw) a couple times due to account setup issues that are known issues in windows 10. Trying to add family users wouldn't work unless i created a separate account even though i was administrator.

Overall Review: I would recommend this, but If you face same mouse issue i described in "cons" i'd just RMA it and also leave it in the review. That would indicate it's on all the devices and i don't think people will like it.

Excellent Ultrabook/Macbook alternative 4/18/2016 9:18:57 PM

Pros: - Unbelievably thin/light
- Decent-sized SSD
- Plenty of memory
- Top-notch touchpad

Cons: - Keyboard keys are a bit shallow. It doesn't bother me, but for someone who is used to hitting their keys pretty forcefully might have some trouble adjusting to it.
- Speakers are on the bottom and can muffle on a softer surface

Overall Review: I'd been looking for an alternative to buying a Macbook Air; I find their prices outrageous for the hardware. I move around a lot for work and wanted something light but that could also handle extensive use of office software while on the road. This notebook has exceeded all of my expectations. At 1.85 pounds, it actually feels lighter than my phone, yet it doesn't seem to suffer in performance. For general business use I don't see any difference between it and my hulking decked-out i7-6700K desktop. It's also pretty much silent.

Windows notebooks have, of course, always been at a disadvantage in two places: battery life and touchpads. In the former case, I get an ample 7-8 hours on the battery, which fully charges in about 90 minutes. As for the touchpad, it's possibly the best I've ever seen on a Windows notebook. It's responsive, smooth, and comfortable. The casing is unassuming, but doesn't feel plasticky or flimsy as you often get with the ultra-thin notebooks. The screen is very nice at both low and high brightness levels, with very wide viewing angles. And unlike a Macbook Air, it's 1920x1080 resolution.

Over all, I'm extremely pleased with the purchase. Other models at this price point always seem to be sacrificing something, whether it's screen resolution, SSD space, CPU speed, or just the backlit keyboard. This "sacrifices" the touchscreen feature that seems to be so popular among manufacturers these days, but I've always found them to be a solution in search of a problem (if I wanted a tablet, I'd buy a tablet). Samsung rightly ditched it and sought to make the thinnest, lightest notebook without sacrificing functionality -- and they succeeded.
