Does this item come with a free upgrade to windows 8.1?

Hey Joseph - Yes the upgrade to  Windows 8.1 is free, however, it wasn't in the updates from Microsoft.  You have to go into the windows store which is on your desktop and look for it in there.  Not a big deal, but I would have thought it was going to be in the automatic updates.

Question 2

it said 500 gb HD+ 24 GB SSD.
but i only see one OS drive with around 500GB space in my computer. is it right? where is the 24 GB SSD ??
sorry if this is a dumb question.

The way I understand this is;  the SSD is not a drive you can access independently, it is set up in a raid configuration that allows the OS to use the faster SSD for access to certain system files, thus providing an environment for faster performance and lower data access times.  
I realize this is a very layman response with potential technical discrepancies, but to get it exactly correct would require more technical terms, I assume that this sums it up accurately enough.

yes the screen is LED backlit screen, the center of the keyboard isnt bent. the wifi is great! i would reccomend this laptop for others. it is very powerful and my only con would be the 4 gigabyte ram

Can more memory be added? or is the memory soldered in.. (no open slots..?)

The main 4GB memory module is soldered in, but there is one open slot. Here's a technical breakdown:

Take out the 10 screws on the bottom of the machine,
Carefully release the inside plastic clips with a tool, preferrably one like the tools they suggest on iFixIt,
And you should now be able to lift the bottom panel from the main chasis.
Now place the new module in the empty slot. It supports up to 8GB total memory, so you can add a 4GB DDR3 1600 CL11 SODIMM.

The laptop also supports WiDi, Cell Networks, and bluetooth with an all in one solution if you're interested in upgrading the wireless as well.

Also of note, the battery is easy to replace.

This computer comes with a separate ssd. What is the use of it? I mean how is the software set up? Is windows installed on the solid state drive?

I'm not 100% on this particular model, but most ultrabooks that have a small SSD and spinning HDD use the SSD as a "ready cache" that speeds up loading of system files and other commonly used files.  You usually do not see this as a separate partition for storing files.  Think of it as a Hybrid SSD/HDD in two parts instead of one and with more flash storage space.

That is how I have seen these setups work in similar systems.  Works pretty well with Win8.  Very seamless experience.

No you can not upgrade this, it would not be good for heavy load.  Honestly it is not a very good machine, I would not buy it again under any circumstances.  Simply poorly built and windows 8 is garbage.

Yes. Windows 8.1 is a free upgrade for anyone who already has Windows 8 unlike the previous Microsoft versions. Think of the .1 as a service pack in windows 7 or XP

I'm sorry I do not have a scale nearby, but it is certainly a lot less than my old laptop.  Certainly only a few pounds.  Very portable.

Is this Bluetooth enabled?

This is not Bluetooth enabled, but I purchased the Intel Network 6235AN.HMWWB Centrino WiFi Card Advanced-N 6235 Dual Band Bluetooth card for very cheap from the prime account website and plan to install it. Others have done this to get Bluetooth and said it stopped their intermittent WiFi drops and some thought they possibly got better speed.
Open back of laptop by removing screws and it slips into open slot (not the ram slot)
