Your tablet isn't as good as this one 7/7/2017 12:29:05 PM

Pros: This thing is just a beast - only thing coming close is the Pixel C by Google.

Cons: I had issues where I was moving some stuff back and forth from internal to card storage, and also experimented with converting it to internal storage. Don't do this, I had performance issues that I couldn't fix until I factory reset the tablet and started fresh. More of an issue with the android version, not the SHIELD K1.

Overall Review: After the factory reset it has been performing, once again, as the title says, better than your tablet.

Very snappy. 7/3/2017 2:26:32 PM

Pros: Fast, great screen, android 7.0 when updated, good overall performance. Awesome stereo speakers. Console mode.

Cons: Gamestream lags, no installing games to it other than android games, battery issues and had to rma first one.

Overall Review: I would recommend if it was still being supported. But they have done away with the tablet for the shield tv. So if you are buying one, there is no way to know if you will keep getting support for it. I would still recommend for media consumption like netflix. But definitely not for gaming. It skips on lego lord of the rings on fiber optic 5g wifi connection that is local.

great tablet for gaming 5/19/2017 8:42:32 AM

Pros: I've only had it one day so maybe it's too early for a review, but so far I'm blown away. Great quality outside and in, great processing power, and amazing game stream capabilities. If you're in to gaming and have an nvidia gpu get this tablet now! I streamed several games from my skylake 1080ti pc, including GTA V full settings, over 5g wireless for several hours with no hiccups. Looks amazing and virtually no lag (using the newest shield controller). Great tablet so far.

Cons: Battery lasts about 3 hrs streaming games, some people might think it's annoying but what do you expect from a tablet while streaming a high res signal. Charging it full takes about 2-2.5 hrs.

Price kinda sucks since it was $200 when it came out, now it's hard to find a new one for under $400. From what I've read it doesn't seem like nvidia is making any more since they're making the switch's processor.

Overall Review: Get one while they're still out there and you don't have to take your chances on eBay.

Overall Review: Geekbench score of 93000 very well score for Tegra K1 Processor.

Love this tablet! 4/18/2017 8:31:50 AM

Pros: This tablet excellent for my phantom 4 pro drone. I also want to say that Newegg's customer service was probably the best I have come across in many years. They totally made up for a small confusion in our company's order. They were amazing!

Cons: None. I had a great experience with Newegg and love the tablet.

Overall Review: I would certainly recommend this tablet and Newegg to anyone! They also gave me a free 1-year premier membership for being a veteran!

Powerful portable tablet with great OTA update support 3/31/2017 9:06:00 PM

Pros: -Best tablet in terms performance/price
-8" size balances portability with screen size
-Display sharpness is good, but obviously not as sharp as a retina display. From normal reading distance difference is negligible.
-Stellar graphics performance. 3D games runs buttery smooth.
-Nvidia has been diligent (so far) in providing the latest versions of Android (at the time of review Andriod 7.0 Nougat is the latest) giving a new feel to the tablet every update
-OTA updates are close to pure Andriod with minimal pre-loaded junk
-Front facing speakers won't be blocked by tablet case/cover
-Good battery life when used for web browsing and watching videos

Cons: -Does not come with a charger. A non-issue as you can easily find cheap 2A USB chargers online or use your phone charger.
-Short battery life when running 3D games. Not totally unexpected given the amount of GPU power this tablet packs. Pretty much need to be plugged in to charger for any extended 3D gaming sessions.
-Power and volume control recessed and slightly difficult to hit. If you have a magnetic case/cover the tablet will turn on when lid is opened negating the need to hit the power button to wake it up.

Overall Review: Updated from Andriod 5.0 (lollipop) to 6 (Marshmallow) to 7 (Nougat) and haven't had any WiFi issues that other people have reported. Highly recommend updating to the latest version of Android.

The first tablet I received had specs of dust embedded behind the screen glass. RMAed the tablet without a fuss to Newegg and was sent a new tablet, which so far has been perfect.

It isn't necessary to buy the the official Shield tablet cover or charger from Nvidia. It is easy to find an equivalent for much less online. Highly recommend getting a cover to protect the screen.

Very good Android Tablet 3/14/2017 10:38:37 PM

Pros: - Videos look great - screen resolution is slightly higher than 1080p
- Powerful, front-facing stereo speakers
- Mobile games like Minecraft PE run amazingly well
- Super-expandable storage. Buy a $25 Micro SD card and you've got an 80 GB tablet.
- Great size and shape. Large enough to be much more practical for videos than a 5-inch phone, but not so large as to be awkward to hold or embarrassing to have out in public.
- Upgrades to Android 7.0 as soon as you hook it up to Wi-Fi.

Cons: - Slow to "warm up" after periods no use, or when loading apps after periods of no use. "Ok Google" voice search takes 5+ seconds to respond the first time, but is fine afterwards. Possibly a memory issue. The difference is pronounced enough compared to my Android phone for it to be annoying.
- Absolutely nothing besides the tablet included with purchase. You're probably going to need to buy a powerful charger. And a case. And storage expansion. The fast charger for my Galaxy S6 did not work for this.
- Gets very hot when updating or doing processor-intensive things like playing mobile games. It smelled like it was overheating during the first 30 minutes of use, but that went away.
- Strange random clicking noises coming from the top sometimes. The noises do not seem to be coming from the speakers.
- Cameras feel cheap, though the absence of the fisheye effect from phones is nice.

Overall Review: I bought this to replace my 3rd-gen iPad. Given the power that this tablet has on paper, I considered using it to replace my $88-per-month Galaxy S6. That won't be happening, as the phone still is a faster and more useful device. This tablet is great for reading, watching videos, or playing mobile games, if those are your thing. Plex, Netflix, Google Play, Splashtop, and YouTube run well and look great on the device. I don't really see the appeal of the apps that Nvidia has included on the device, but those are easy to ignore. As a powerful and attractive Android tablet, this is great.
