Pros: All black styling. Not overly tall, appropriate for HTPC case. Not overly long, avoiding conflicts with other components.
Cons:
Replacing the fan is going to be one big headache. Bc it takes a 1.5" (40mm) fan tail/wire to fit inside the cooler's L-shaped fan shroud/cover. So that it will snap shut. You might be able to stash a wee bit more tail/wire into a small space just to the left of the cooler's internal 4-pin connector, at the back side of the fan, but it'll be tough.
And the Phononic OEM fan that comes with that 1.5" tail/wire -- a Sans Ace (aka Sanyo Denki) 9S0912P4F011 92mm x 25mm fan -- isn't available retail. And who knows if it comes out-of-the-box with this short tail … or if Phononic spec-ed it for their own order. I've spent an hour or two searching … and I only found one Foxcomm 92mm PWM fan with such a short tail, an OEM fan for a SFF HP computer. I suppose we can go with some oddball no-name-brand 90mm x 25mm PWM fan that would leave enough gap to wind the fan tail/wire around the fan's molding … and hope the wire adds enough dimension to generate a snug fit.
Let's see if Phononic presents a plan.
UPDATE: I visited my local techie shop. They let me look through a bunch of 92mm fans. I discovered that Arctic F9 PWM (Revision 4) had a thin, ribbon, unsleeved fan wire/tail. I was able to wind its thin wire around the fan frame, stash the little bit of extra wire next to the plug and snap the Photonic's fan shroud shut.
Pros: The performance of this cooler is unmatched for its size. It will still function without the app which is nice. Visually it will work with almost anything.
Cons: Now for the bad. The cooler seams to be built backwards for most case designs. If you have the fan oriented to the back of the case then the power cables may interfere with the top PCI slot. My solution was to put the fan in backwards so the cables are on top. While it works it is provably less then ideal since the airflow is specifically supposed to go one way.
Overall Review: Overall I am impressed with this cooler by Phononic. If they make any changes in the future I hope they design the cooler to be reversible to fix the cable issue.
Pros: Feels beefy / seems well designed. Am anxious to explore the capabilities of this cooler
Cons: Amending earlier review...I was able to connect with Kevin of Phononic Customer relations, Very nice gentleman, he bent over backward to resolve my issue with Phononic immediately. I'm talking like a day. Soon after I spoke with Daniel in Marketing, also, a credit to the firm. I am very happy with Phononic and their customer support and look forward to a long relationship with them.
Overall Review: I HIGHLY recommend to anyone this cooler and to support Phononic.
Pros: I got this for the molten lava making i9 7940x. It never got above 80*c after stress testing for 3 days at 90% stress. I got it to avoid the AIO coolers because my boxes get shipped around on semi's and airplanes. Perfect solution for me
Cons: The packaging was a little much personally. Very nice but not necessary and i probably paid for it.
Overall Review: Best cooler you can get and willing to bet it will last much longer then any water cooled system. A investment worth making in my opinion. The GUI is a little janky but to be honest you open it once, change your settings and never open it again.
Pros:
Fits perfect in my Corsair Obsidian Series 250D!
Great spacing for my ASRock Fatal1ty Z370 Gaming-ITX/ac mobo.
cooling seems great for the size.
Cons: price seems a bit high
Overall Review: Great option for non water in smaller cases. Was looking for something unique and preferably black. be quiet! had some nice air options in black but this fit better in my case.
Pros: I ran this cooler through it's paces and was shocked at how much I can overclock the and a10 7700k! Not once did I see temps over 52c, while overclocking at 4ghz! installation was a breeze after watching a couple videos.
Cons: I really don't have a complaint besides that I'd like to try the super cool setting. but I'm not in the specified environment...
Overall Review: Able to match or complement the colour scheme in the windowed chassis, looks really nice.
Pros: The cooler itself is quite good but...
Cons:
Everything was fine until the software interface was installed.
What Phononic provides for an interface is a lame Fkng joke.
CEO TONY ATTI C'mon you can't do better than this?
Overall Review:
Also, a lot of money was spent on very extravagant packaging which I ultimately paid for.
I bought a CPU cooler not a Movado watch.
I would have given 5 stars but the mickey mouse interface
totally turned me off

Pros: - It works, it will keep a 140w TPD CPU from thermal throttling
- It's unique, this might be the only consumer CPU Pelteir cooler on the market today
Cons: - Very poor value, basically the same cooling performance as a Noctua NH-D9L (well slightly worse, but not a significant difference) what is significant is the price difference, the HEX 2.0 costs twice as much. There also isn't any small form factor advantage either, The HEX is 10 mm taller, 7mm wider, and the same depth. It is also much louder with the D9l having a max dBA of 23 and idle of 16 compared to the HEX's max dBA 33 and 17 idle . You also only get a 1 year warranty for the HEX vs a 6 year warranty for the D9L, which is again HALF the price. Now lets get to efficiency, now it's claimed to be green tech and "highly efficient" and someone is going to have to explain that to me, because an air cooler only needs power for it's fan which is a couple watts, an AIO like the Corsair H150I pro RGB is 10 watts and about 2/3's of that is just for the RGB. The HEX will pull over 40 watts
Overall Review: This product needs to come way down in price before I would consider recommending it. But really they should refocus who this product is being targeted for because atm I have no idea who this is for. This product should have just focused on thermal performance, forget the small form factor, forget noise, and throw the efficiency out the window. Target the performance enthusiast's, if this product could distinguish itself for having the best cooling performance then you don't need to worry about efficiency, noise, form factor, or price. People will pay a premium for the best even if it's only marginally better than everything else
