Lousy Battery Life 11/4/2019 12:18:03 PM

Pros: Initially I was very pleased with this phone. It did everything it was supposed to do. Excellent picture and sound quality. No connection problems. I really needed the dual sim function, but it did not work at all abroad, even with a local sim card.

Cons: I bought this phone on November 23, 2017. It is now November 4, 2019, and the battery is all but dead. If the battery power drops below 50%, the phone literally dies, just shuts down--even if the battery power reads 48%. If you use the phone actively for two hours, it needs to be recharged. Maximum battery life on standby is twelve hours. At just under two years old, it barely qualifies as a mobile phone, because it is useless unless it can be plugged in to something most of the time. My initial enthusiasm has turned to extreme disappointment.

Overall Review: Since this phone does not have a replaceable battery and the battery lives less than two years, I cannot recommend this phone. The new Axon 10 sounds very appealing--at twice the price of the Axon 7--but I won't buy one because my trust in ZTE has vanished.

Garbage 8/10/2019 5:06:57 PM

Pros: Nice sound

Cons: Everything else. Screen is very glitchy. Sometimes 1/2 screen. Today I have no touch control. Worst phone I ever had.

Axon Mini 7 - Don't buy 7/22/2018 11:49:47 AM

Pros: An OK phone, not the best camera out there.

Cons: Customer service, if this phone needs to be repaired, simply read what I have put below.

Overall Review: I can only say here that one of my biggest regrets in buying electronics over the past 40 years was purchasing a ZTE Axon Mini 7.

About 1 ½ years after owning this phone, 3 things went wrong. The ‘0’ when pushed on the keypad to dial a number worked, BUT once you were on the call, pressing 0 again for an operator didn’t work. The three emblems at the base of the screen, the triangle, circle and the square, wouldn’t work when touched, (even after 2 factory resets) and lastly the sensitivity. The screen was way, way over sensitive to touch and after 2 factory resets, it was still the same. I spent ages on line looking for solution and even ZTE’s tech support couldn’t find an answer that worked.

So with the above being said on Friday 6-29-18 I mailed my phone off to ZTE’s repair center in Grapvine, TX. It arrived the following Thursday, so ‘Business Day 1’ started on Friday 7-6-18.

I won’t go into every call I made, but there were many, due to the fact that according to ZTE, it’s usually a 5 business day fix and then the phone is returned. On that 5th business day my phone was still with ZTE’s repair center; which might I add, the very people that you talk to on the phone have NO WAY to contact this repair center, its absolutely ludicrous.

The email that your sent as a customer with the original shipping label attached to send the phone to ZTE, there’s a link in that email where you can check the repair status of your phone. On their website there’s a “Repair Status” icon that you can click and once again one can get an update on your phones status. Using FIVE different web browsers all you get is a blank white page; it’s simply a dead link. It asks for Adobe Flash to be downloaded and after doing that, even though mine was up to date (and after a reboot on my computer), its still the same white page dead link.

On the 6th & 7th business day that ZTE had my phone I was told by two different tech support agents that my phones status had now been ‘escalated and that it was in Rush status.’ Both promised me that within 48 hours someone from the ‘repair center’ would call. On the 7th business day I even called ZTE’s headquarters and was told Chris would call me back later that day. To this day I’ve never received a single call from any ZTE employee.

Eighteen days since I’d mailed my phone off to ZTE; some 8 business days since ZTE had started working on my phone, I’d had it, I was starting to lose my mind. I spoke to two different supervisors (like I said I have every name of every person who I spoke to and the days I called) and both assured me that the following day my phone would be mailed ‘FedEx overnight.’ My phone according to them would arrive on Thursday 7-19-18. I was given a tracking number, I called FedEx minutes later and Carl assured me that the numbers given were for “2 day Express, NOT overnight!”

The next day it got heated on the phone because by 18:00 CST my phones status according to Fedex was ‘Shipping label has been created by shipper.’ According to yet a 3rd supervisor at ZTE, it had left and it was ‘overnight.’

When there was available tracking for the phone, it was as FedEx had first said, it was two day shipping and NOT overnight. At the time of writing this review I have just received my ‘Like New’ phone from ZTE. My phone had left my home some 3 weeks prior. ZTE actually had my phone for 13 days which ended up being 9 business days. Complete lies on escalated and rush status and complete lies on overnight shipping. It was one nightmare after another.

I’ve read many reviews that ZTE’s ‘Like New’ phones have had major issues too. I hope I’m not in that category because if there’s one thing that I don’t want to go through again, it’s another 3 weeks without a phone while it’s in ZTE’s possession!

I hope this story can prevent at least one person or family out there going through the nightmare that I went through with this company.

Died real fast 5/3/2018 12:47:25 PM

Pros: I liked the fingerprint sensor, storage, and ram.

Cons: It was pretty great when I first got my hands on it. It's been about 9 months now, and I hate it. Definitely not worth my $330. The battery doesn't last a day anymore, and I have to press the power button 10 times and wait for the screen to wake up.

Overall Review: I would not recommend this phone. Not even worth $250 imo.

Horrible Phone I would not recommend to my friends or buy again 3/27/2018 9:28:04 PM

Pros: Sound Quality is nice

Cons: The build of the device is horrible. I dropped my phone and the button on the side got stuck and now the phone keeps on restarting.
If you crack your screen you cannot get it fixed unless you ship it out to their specialized store in which they just throw your phone away and give you a new one and charge you $110. The worst part is it that it takes them 3 weeks to replace the phone.
The service center in Canada doesn't even take calls they only contact you by email and do not speak english very well at all.
The phone is more of a hassle than anything. You should be able to repair your phone if anything happens to it without having to go through all of these hoops
