Overall Review: With much lower profile options out there, for less money, I couldn't recommend this item unless it was in the 6-8 buck range, I frequently have to push it back in because it slowly works it way out of the outlet. It functions fine, does deliver 2.1A from that port and has served me well for 4 months, so it does have that going for it.

Pros: The 1-amp port already has the data pins shorted, making it work for high-current Android devices (they see it as an AC charger). It's not glued together, making it easy to open up and mod for Android (the 2.1A port does not have the data pins shorted!) Blue LEDs are not too bright.

Cons: For an Android tablet or phone the 2.1A port will only charge at slower USB rates out of the box.

Overall Review: The circuit board holding the USB ports appears to have the resistor network setup for Apple on the 2.1A port. There is a spot for a second 0-Ohm resistor for the data pins on the lower port but it's empty. If this had the resistor it probably wouldn't charge an iPad (isn't that the the reason the majority of these things won't charge iOS devices?). It's not easy to actually mod because the needed spot is blocked by the way the two boards (power board and port board) are assembled, you have to unsolder them from each other (be sure to mark the location first) or remove a capacitor (but the spot you have to solder is very tiny, for surface mount). I bridged the spot with a tiny cutoff of a lead and a blob of solder and put the boards back together. Now my old HTC Flyer charges fine in both ports, as do my One X and Thunderbolt devices, and all three appear to charge without causing the device to shutdown. For the parts hackers out there: it uses a CX8505 charging IC, looks to be a China-only part rated up to 3A constant current up to 20V output. With two Android devices charging in AC mode, the device is pulling 1.13A @ 11V, 1.03A @ 12V, 920mA @13V, and 850mA @ 13V on a benchtop power supply.

Pros: Can charge a Blackberry Playbook using a hacked usb cable (shorted the data leads on the micro end of the cable, left the data leads open on the USB end that plugs to the car adapter). Same thing with a Samsung phone that needs 1.7A. That was the only reason I got this adapter. Blue led backlights the amperages above the usb ports when connection to car cigarette lighter is good.

Cons: It sticks out from the cigarette lighter but I can live with that

Pros: Great price. Nice to have dual ports. I purchased 3 adapters for Christmas and had a problem with one of them. I contacted Rosewill and they immediately sent a replacement. Thank you.

Cons: It was a bummer that one of the adapters was broken but the problem was quickly fixed.

Pros: Both ports work for me. Able to charge Motorola Droid Razar Maxx, Blackberry, Samsung Galaxy S3.

Cons: Wide head might block other things. Fits fine in my case (VW Golf), but might be an issue for some people. Blue light can get annoying.

Pros: Dual outputs.

Cons: Ordered 2 units. 2.1 amp output on one unit fails (no output) after a few of seconds when first plugged in. If unplugged and then plugged back in, the output goes dead very quickly. 1 amp output works okay.

Overall Review: Unless Newegg pays the return postage, getting a RMA is pointless due to the $5.99 cost.
