True 1080p at an affordable price has been the goal of many manufacturers. Westinghouse got there with the LVM-37W3SE. They didn’t skimp on the features either. There are three 1080p/HDCP capable inputs, one HDMI and two DVI. Plus the VGA/D-Sub also supports 1080p. The two component inputs support 1080i, so you’ve got plenty of options available for HD viewing.
The chassis is only 4.7” thick and has 75mm X 75mm and 100mm X 100mm VESA mounting holes so it’s easily wall mountable using standard wall mount systems. At only 43 pounds without the base installation is easy. The SpineDesign puts all of the connectors on the sides of the TV for easy access, even when mounted to the wall.
Of course none of that matters if the picture doesn’t look good. The 176° horizontal and vertical viewing angles make sure everyone in the room has a good view. A 1000:1 contrast ratio and 550cd/m2 brightness rating lets you see the show, no matter what the lighting is. Westinghouse moves into the next phase of displays with style and function, as it has for decades!
Full HD 1080With a maximum resolution of 1920x1080 (16:9), the widescreen Westinghouse LVM-37W3SE fully supports up to HDTV 1080p (1920x1080, progressive) for a truly high-definition experience.
Impressive ViewabilityThe Westinghouse LVM-37W3SE offers an ultra-wide 176° viewing angle both horizontally and vertically to ensure a perfect viewing experience from all directions.
HDMI InputThe Westinghouse LVM-37W3SE features an HDMI input to receive high-definition digital video and audio through a single, convenient cable connection. HDMI’s appeal has made it the choice interface for a broad selection of HD-capable video devices and gaming consoles.
Powerful SoundThe Westinghouse LVM-37W3SE features a pair of 15W speakers to deliver powerful stereo sound for an immersive entertainment experience.
Dual Inputs for Digital and AnalogWith DVI-D and D-Sub connectors, the Westinghouse LVM-37W3SE supports both digital and analog VGA inputs for increased compatibility with computers and other video source devices.
A huge monitor at a great price12/30/2007 6:23:42 PM
Pros: (+) 1920x1080 resolution for a low price
(+) Very crisp image - text, images and video are all very crisp.
(+) Tons of inputs, including DVI & VGA, allowing you to use it as a TV, computer monitor, gaming monitor, etc.
(+) Let me reiterate this: this thing makes an incredible computer monitor. It's freakin huge!
(+/-) Backlight is almost blindly bright, but you can easily turn it down to acceptable levels
(+) Mine had no dead pixels
(+/-) Looks reasonably good at all viewing angles
Cons: (-) Black levels are nothing special. They get the job done - and are solid for this price range - but more expensive sets do a much better job
(-) Probably in part due to the weaker black levels, the colors on this screen don't seem as rich as other (more expensive) screens. They just lack the depth and pop of high end sets.
(-) No tuners of any kind. That means you can't directly hook up your cable to it, but need something in between to process the signal, such as a cable box, DVD player, computer, etc.
Overall Review: I use this screen as my computer monitor (hooked up via DVI), which means I've tried it with:
* Word processing
* Web browsing
* 3D gaming (Call of Duty 4, Hitman: Blood Money, Medieval II: Total War)
* Movies (DivX, DVDs, HD content)
* Photo editing
* Programming
Simply put, this monitor is an awesome value. There are 1080p displays out there that are bigger, that produce deeper blacks and richer colors, but there is nothing that even comes close at this price range. Movies and gaming are an awesome experience and text is so sharp that reading/writing on this screen are a pleasure. In fact, the text size ends up a bit larger, so you have less eye strain.
The trade off, however, is that the darks and colors produced by this screen are not top of the line. Compared to my Sony FW900, the LVM-37w3se just can't produce the same richness and depth in images. However, the brightness of the screen, sheer size and sharpness of the Westinghouse are more than enough to make up for
Pros: I debated for weeks over buying this monitor. I'm glad I finally pulled the trigger. I bought a 42" TX monitor from a local store and the resolution was not on par so I returned it. Ordered from NewEgg as usual and now I'm super happy with the purchase. NO DEAD PIXELS. Amazing monitor! My friend has the same model and his is fantastic too. Backlight appears nice and even across all areas of the screen unlike my older D e l l 20" LCD.
Cons: UPS left the box on my doorstep at 11:00am WITHOUT my signature... Carefully read the purchase agreement because you can only return this item at the time of delivery in the event of damage. The box showed some signs of tearing but the contents are just fine.
Overall Review: I have a huge desk and the monitor is easily 3 feet back from my chair. Pixels are a little larger than smaller LCD screens but that is to be expected. Text is nice and readable on all webpages. Stop waiting and buy this monitor while you still can!
Pros: Great PRICE for a display with this many features and true 1080p support...tons of input options. If you have a 1080p source this thing is fantastic. Gaming at 1920x1080 is a captivating experience!!!
Cons: 1080p/1080i sources via component cables look kinda bad, not better than plain old tv actually. Supposedly HDMI is better, I have a cable on the way to test the HDTV part out some more. Make sure and calibrate it, out of box is a bit bright.
Overall Review: Works AWESOME as a pc display, mine is used for pc gaming, internet, and moderate cable tv. You simply can't go wrong with this as a true multimedia capable setup. Xbox 360 on VGA, PC via the dvi, and cable tv via component/hdmi....
Pros: The monitor looks great with an HD tuner especially through the HDMI input. The resolution and color are great with PC and TV viewing. If you game this is the one to get. My xbox360 looks awesome on this.
Cons: Not enough HDMI inputs only 1. Basic non HD/ analog channels look fuzzy and not upscaled well or at all.
Overall Review: For under $1000 you really can't beat that price for a 1080p tv. The size is alot bigger than I thought. Was considering the 42 inch but for hundreds less decided it fit my budget perfectly.

Great monitor for computer11/12/2008 7:55:15 AM
Pros: Absolutely stunning picture, I moved from a 22inch LG to this monster and the picture quality remained the same (if not got a little bit better). Beautiful for WOW, Fallout 3 and NHL 09.
Cons: Xbox 360 picture is a tiny bit fuzzy but its connected with components, not hdmi. I do notice a little bit of tearing not enough to be annoying just once in a while you notice it.
Overall Review: I placed my order Tues evening, monitor left from NJ the following day and arrived in Chicago Thurs night and was delivered Fri morning. Box had a few nice dings but the monitor was unscathed. Plugged it in changed my resolution to 1920 x 1080 and was truly impressed with the quality of the picture. has all the features you could ask for. I had decided to go with this over a 26 inch LG monitor despite the horror stories I have read here, I'm very happy I did this really is worth the money if your going to use it as a computer monitor. A strange note the included remote has to be in front of the monitor to work but without programing the remote works with my 32" sony TV and it does not have to be directly in front of it.

Pros: Very large screen if used as a PC monitor (which I am). Very vibrant colors, 8ms response times which isn't too shabby for the price. Works extremely well in games (I didn't think it would). Hooked it up and plugged it in and it worked. Not much to setup...auto-senses which input to use. The price is unbeatable for what it is.
Cons: None that I can think of.
Overall Review: I was a little leary about Westinghouse, but now that I am using this one, I would definitly buy another one when the time comes.

Pros: HUGE!!!! i use this for a pc monitor and for my tv Insanly amazing When you put this next to any other monitors for pc 1 its way bigger and 2 its so much brighter and the colors are 10 times more amazing!
Cons: HEAVY to carry to lan partys LOL but its ok cause its sexy
Overall Review: IF YOU WANT A PC MONITOR thats like 24 inches or bigger just get this! amazing hehe
Pros: Excellent HD Monitor for the price. It works very well with our HD DVR system from DirecTV and our home theater DVD player/sound system. Will be setting up a computer with it later this year.
Cons: Would be nice if it had a second HDMI input.
Overall Review: Have not experienced any problems whatsoever with this product.
