Will these run in dual channel mode when getting 2 of these?

4gb + 8gb is not dual channel mode.  That's single channel because of the size difference.  They have to match to do dual channel.

They should run in dual channel 16gb as 8gb + 8gb.  It's just regular DDR3 low voltage ram.  Besides the ram specs, make sure your product part numbers and chip numbers match.

I can not answer this question . Haswell is 4th gen proc.. I bought this mem. for Lenovo Yoga 13 with i5 3rd gen proc.. Works fine.

I have HP ENVY DV7-7212NR. The memory spec is the same except it doesn't have the L -- PC3 DDR3 1600 12800. Will the DRAM with "L" work with the HP ENVY DV7-7212NR ?

depending on the memory it may be able to do both voltages the L refers to low voltage which is 1.35V without the L is 1.5V check the patriot website and make sure it can do both voltages

Hi Christine, It should work.  Dell Support's site says your laptop model currently uses the same memory speed (ddr3L 1600) and also that it supports memory configurations of 2G,
4G and 8Gb memory stick.  Just need to do an R & R of the current 4Gb stick and replace it with the 8 Gb Patriot stick you are considering.  As always recommended, be sure to wear a ground strap to safe guard against electrostatic discharge when performing the upgrade.

In my experience, unless your MacBook is an oddball model at the beginning of a significant chip architecture change (like 32 bit Core Duo to 64 Bit Core 2 Duo) then the RAM is completely compatible so long as you match the DDR generation and the pin numbers. Even in those exceptions it is generally the amount of Maximum RAM you can install that is affected.  That said without knowing which Macbook model you have I cannot be more specific.

I used two 8GB 1,600 MHZ modules in an HP note book manufactured I 2014. These work perfectly giving dual channel capability. A friend used one of these with an Intel 8GB 1,600 MHZ module in a Dell laptop and all worked perfectly.
