Just Wow!!! 7/29/2011 6:40:19 PM

Comments: I ordered this system after a lot of research and I am certain that for the minimal cost of this computer it is by far the best value for my money that I have spent about 30 years.

I received the computer in 1 business from my order date.
Before even opening the box, I decided to add a Western Digital Caviar Black WD1002FAEX 1TB 7200 internal harddrive, an additional DVD burner and a SAMSUNG 2333T High Glossy Black 23" 8ms Full HD WideScreen LCD Monitor
1. Hooked up the new monitor
2. Booted the system
3. Removed the few programs that were not usefull to me
4. De-fragmented the hard drive
5. Rebooted
6. Confirmed that all worked well
7. Shut down
8. Added an additional DVD/CD burner, an additional Western Digital1tb Cavier Black hardrive
9. Rebooted
10. Confirmed everything worked perfect
11. Installed all of my graphics apps
1tb hard drive rebooted
12. Defragmented again
13. Rebooted
14. Loved it ever since!
Yeah New Egg (All the above is from Newegg

Worth the money 11/2/2010 4:11:38 PM

Pros: For a standard "on-board" main-board, the choices of chip set and standards are excellent from a cost savings and quality level. Production standards were neat, tight, well thought out. Compared to gateway & dell it was a slight cut above. Workmanship of construction internally was not rushed, case was well designed to prevent accumulation of dust & provide access.
These are commercial PC's & one must compare oranges to oranges. Dell & gateway are the comparable comparison in their own strength-level configurations; thus this (HP 210f) appears to be the best choice....by a slim margin but observable. The choices of component and main-board design put it at the top.

Cons: Cosmetically, it is easily scratched, the room for large hands in the cabinet is not that great, it's weight is not applied toward the base (not an easily tipped over case but the weight should be lower).
Not a well designed case for multiple internal drives: could have used different HDD slot design.

Overall Review: For the money this MAY be the best WIN7 commercial machine available. The whole of the machine choices were designed around WIN7. The componentry was a serious cut above the standard commercial and the idiosyncratic elements of wireless / sound were well thought out. separate video card design makes this a "gaming" type computer - however as a office / design graphics machine for a small network of 6-12 nodes where graphics are used, it's ideal.
This machine was compared side by side with a dell & gateway of very close specs & the HP was a clearly better choice.

Mine Broke 10/16/2010 2:08:48 PM

Pros: This computer is blazing fast, and handles everything I have tried to throw at it, and asks for more.
Graphics were stellar for everything that I was using it for.
I am not a sound quality freak but, it sounded perfect to me.
When it was working, everything seemed really fast and I could never get it above 40% on the ram.

Cons: The hard drive has failed on me twice now, the second time it is totally broken, there is nothing that I can do to bring it back to life.
So now I have to buy another hard drive because I failed to buy the extended warranty at BB.

A great value for a low-mid tech consumer. 10/9/2010 9:30:18 AM

Pros: Setup was a breeze, arrived very quickly, and took no time to update. Husband is not a very computer savvy person so this tower is perfect for him. Simple, easy, and can handle all of the games that he plays such as Requiem and Fallen Earth.

1. Quad core processor
2. Not many unwanted programs
3. On board graphics card is amazing. (for on board)
4. 1 TB Hard Drive is nice.
5. Lots of room for upgrades.

Cons: 6 months of Norton comes with this machine. I detest Nortons as it is a virus all by itself due to its habit of sticking its grubby little fingers into EVERYTHING on your computer. I never activated it, I just uninstalled and put my own Antivirus in.

Overall Review: I am really surprised at some of the reviews of this machine, especially about it running hot. This tower runs at a cool-normal temp at all times that we have checked it, even after running some pretty draining programs and running for several hours. Very nice machine for the price, and keeps up with a "mild" gamer. This is NOT a "Hardcore, max graphics, ultimate game machine" although there is a lot of room for upgrading.

So far; so good... 9/16/2010 2:29:50 PM

Pros: Fast, fast, fast.

Cons: Video card is not really for a gaming system.

Overall Review: I've installed Ubuntu 10.04 on this machine and it absolutely screams! After an initial problem that was solved quite easily, Ubuntu is really perfect for this machine!

A great machine for mid-level use 9/5/2010 2:06:37 AM

Pros: This is an excellent machine for a simple home office user with mid to low range tech demands, i.e. my mom and her home office use.
It has a number of things going for it namely:

1. A nice quad core processor
2. The basic 8gb of memory (expandable to 16) onboard is more than enough to load windows very quickly.
3. Set-up was extremely simple.
4. Unnecessary programs (on this machine at least) are limited, and were easy to uninstall. Compared to HP machines past this is a major improvement.
5. Nice clean shiny black chassis with a hidden USB door in the front, and card reader. No more awful gray and beige.
6. On board graphics card is crystal clear.
7. A nice big 1 TB Hard Drive standard.
8 It's an HP - personal preference speaking here...

Cons: This is a very basic machine ideal for novice to low-level tech experienced or mid-level users.
A few glitches with Windows 7- which are all related to older software and took place after Windows 7 updates were installed.

1 CD/blu-ray DVD drive, but there's enough expansion bay space for another and other devices (A little slim on the number of expansion bays but I can't see using very many of them anytime soon).

Overall Review: I'm taken aback by some of the reviews of this machine.
This system is not really meant to be a graphics heavy gaming machine. There have been no problems with overheating, noise, etc. since we got it. For our use as a home office machine it is perfect for a very basic user (i.e. my mom). Technological longevity was a big consideration in buying this machine as we rarely replace machines until they finally give out (i.e. about every 4 to 5 years). In considering that, I figured at minimum a quad-core processor, nice big hard drive and a maximum16gb expandable memory was basic but more than adequate for our use. Overall a great machine so far.

Does not run hot 8/14/2010 7:40:14 PM

Pros: Previous reviewer remarked that "cores run very hot, 75C-85C at idle." Think they meant *Fahrenheit*.

Via SIW, my cores run 83-93 degrees F under light to medium loads, which is 29-34 Celsius. That's actually running cool!

Cons: Wish they'd used a Caviar Black or Caviar Blue drive instead of Caviar green. Not that it probably matters much for normal usage.

Bloatware is annoying.

HPE-210f 8/10/2010 9:07:55 AM

Pros: -Fast, Functional, capable. (4 cores at 3ghz.... YEAH BABY)
-RAM is great AND expandable!!
-Flys through multi-tasking
-Very easy set-up, clean
-Hooks up to TV so I can use it as a Blue-ray player :)

Cons: I tried it out on my newly bought SC2. First I just played it with recommended settings and it was great. When I pumped up settings to MAX, I could still play... but it chugged a good bit :( I really wanted a machine that could blaze through any game in the foreseeable future.

After doing a good bit of research on my machine, everyone says that it's awesome except for the video card. SOOOOOO I love the machine, but I'll replace with a better graphics card in a few months (gotta save up for it).

Overall Review: Overall I am pleased with my purchase (which I made with little to no research). I walked into the store with specs in mind and wadded through all the desktops till I found one that matched everything I had in mind. The Radeon HD 5450 card looked good on the box with 8GDDR3, but it's just not up to stuff.
