PC Power and Cooling Silencer Mk II 750W High Performance 80PLUS Silver SLI CrossFire Intel Haswell Ready Power Supply

Pros: Picked it up on a 4th of july deal. was $89 and also has a $20 rebate from OCZ which made it 69 when its all said and done. Runs both of my Radeon 6950s in crossfire, very quiet. One of the best warranty's in the business. Power cables long enough to route for management in a full tower.

Cons: none

Overall Review: There have been complaints about the rebate from this company. I will update if it is an issue.

Pros: It took five minutes to drop my failed supply and 5 more to bolt this one in. She lit on the first flip and is driving a 4 disk (1 TB per disk, SATA II) 0+1 array, 2 other SATA II devices, a liquid cooler for the CPU, 4870 X2 video, enough case fans to keep it all cool, a fan controller and everything else it takes to run a gaming system. Low heat, low noise, smooth power. Plenty of connectors for ANYTHING you might need.

Cons: Lots of cables but I expected that because I read before I buy. ...and yes, I have UPS because complaining about power stability without using one is like standing outside yelling at the rain to stop.

Pros: East to install in the case. Easy to identify the wires. Quiet! I don't hear it at all. If you don't mind it not being modular, it's a great buy.

Cons: The only con I can think of is it's not modular. And that's my fault. However, the wires I had left to deal with fit nicely in the case and out of the way.

Pros: It's a PC Power & Cooling PSU... I should be a verified owner, I bought two of them in 2007! The copper version & I push it HARD... like pack mule. QX6700 OC'd, 2x8800GTX Sli'd, WD Raptors, 680i SLI mobo, & 9136C5D. It has taken it for 5 years straight & most people suggest an 850 watt PSU!

Cons: Not a con really... no modular cables, but that's good for your power... each break in a modular cable drops your end voltages & increases current. Baking your components slowly over time. Not many, just keep it fairly clean... like once a year you should blow it out from inside the case towards the rearward fan. Just power it off first! The fan can set a temporary fault thinking there is a fan failure.

Overall Review: It's survived dirty power from a faulty transformer 3 years ago... (thx Entergy) all summer long and it survive when the transformer had blown (while playing Cyrsis!) I would have built two more systems by now, but not until I have total failure... (These PSU are designed by an ex military engineer. Tested in ovens while under-volted (dirty power) & proven tough at full load!)

Pros: I did much research before I bought this power supply, I didn't want to skimp and at the same time wanted quality! This power supply was built in Japan not any other country with lower standards. The components contain high quality materials rated much higher than any other PS in the same price category. It runs very quiet and has cables & power to spare. I also opted to get this PS vs a Modular one, even though I didn't use every single cable....so what? an extra cable or two tucked away definitely won't hamper air flow, and why pay the extra??

Overall Review: A little expensive, and you can get cheaper ones....but not built with anywhere near this quality!

Pros: Voltages are very clean and strong When mounted in the bottom of the case the cooling is very effectual and self contained The wiring is of a heavy gauge wire, for better conductivity EMI is very low, or great EMF protection No burn outs due to loose modular plugs Plug clamps are strong and secure Saver a Watt, save a tree Reputation

Overall Review: Modular plugs would be nice, but that would add to the price. PC Power and Cooling's reputation would force them to go beyond guaranteeing that a connection would never fail or come loose, even if it was your fault. I can not hear the power supply's fan at all.

Pros: For the ones that already know PC Power & Cooling have been in the game for many years way back when consumer & business computers where heading to the market and they still stand by their high quality with a 7 year warranty compared to other PSU manufactures. It's built solid and comes with every connecter ill ever need

Cons: None other then yes obviously the price but it does pay off in the long run

Overall Review: My advice to anyone building a quality machine should never skimmy on a cheap PSU

Pros: Stable, quiet, it works. PCPC replaced my first unit, with little fussiness. Tech support helpful.

Cons: First unit had an internal mechanical rattle. A loose screw or nut.

Overall Review: Just a caution, and not meant as a criticism of this fine power supply -- think twice about using this PSU with a non- "Pure Sine Wave" UPS. I'm using a slightly older model of this PSU: Silencer PPCS750QBL, now discontinued, but I'm totally happy with it. PC Power & Cooling's tech support promptly replied to my question about its compatibility with UPS's which have a simulated sine wave output - units like many of the Smart-UPS produced by APC / American Power Conversion. Their advice, in full: "The PPCS750QBL will work with a simulated sine wave, but I recommend you do not. A derived, stepped, or simulated sine wave can damage the active power factor correction in our power supply over time. Typically, a UPS will only go to battery power when there is an interruption in the AC current. This is the only time the sine wave characteristics come into play. If the power supply is exposed to a simulated sine wave for extended periods of time or frequently, the PFC can become damaged and fail prematurely."
