Question 1

Will this fit on ASUS Maximus VI Formula motherboard and Corsair Dominator Platinum RAM? I'm asking this because both the ram and the motherboard are taller then normal motherboard or normal size ram around the CPU!?

I have some tall ram on my mobo: G.SKILL Trident X Series. The good news for me, is the G. Skill ram allows the user to remove the top of the heatsink on the ram. So it was not a problem for me. I've  taken a look at the Corsair Dominator Platinum ram. If you plan to have the phanteks fans oriented to blow air from east to west, the ram will get in the way. Unless, you put the fans behind the two heatsinks on the phanteks, instead of in front of the two heatsinks. The hardware provided will allow you to do this. You may also get by by rotating the phanteks 90 degrees and blowing the air from south to north, provided your mobo will allow this. In short, there is likely a configuration that will work with your mobo and your ram.

Question 2

Will this fit on my i5 4690K (pretty sure it's socket 1150) with Corsair vengeance RAM? I don't have low profile ram so I'm not sure if it will fit my socket or in my case at all (define R4)

Depends on your MB and RAM.  I have a Fractal Design XL case with Gigabyte Z77 MB and Corsair RAM and it fits fine, but your results could differ.  Give it a try.  Fantastic fan by the way.  I added a third fan to mine and can barely hear it.

Question 3

I was wondering what the chances are of this fitting on my Asus m5a99fx motherboard with G. Skill ram (40mm tall)? Just want to be sure that it will fit before I buy it.

Yes, you can fit it. I have g skill memory on a z87 board and if your board is atx, it will probably fit.

This is listed on PC Part Picker as compatible with my motherboard Asus M5A99FX Pro R2.0...the current fan/heatsink I have does not fit my new mobo...which means I need to replace it unfortunately. I haven't seen a mobo with this small of an area for CPU/heatsink/fan...and thus need some reassurance I can buy this and it WILL fit. Otherwise my PC is out of order until I can find a heatsink that works... :-( does anyone know?

I have this with an Asus Crosshair V Formula motherboard, which looks very similar to yours, and it fits, the only issue is that with all of the fans attached it covers the first two RAM slots.

I would think it would work fine, I use it with a i-7 4790K. You can check Phanteks site for a compatibility list. The main issue you may have is if it will fit in you case. I'd recommend checking your case dimensions and compare those to the cooler's.

For me it came with hardware for LGA 2011. To the best of my knowledge the geometry for installing a heatsink cooler on LGA 2011-3 is the same as LGA 2011.

So yes, it should work.

Is this item being shipped with the new or old style fans?

Hey Randy, I just purchased this, and to be honest, I'm not sure what the difference is between the old and the new. HOWEVER, the ones that came with mine have blue fins that you attach to the heatsink with what looks like fashioned paperclips that fit in the grooves of the fins of the heatsink (when I saw them I thought cheap, but fact is I've used velcro on some internal fans, as long as the fan stays in place and doesn't rattle I really dont' care).  Mine is keeping my i7 4770k at 28c idle and seems to be working like a charm.

There are 2 options when placing the mounting, you choose which one will cause the desired air flow direction (vertical or horizontal).

They are quieter than my Video card fans so I don't notice the volume.

P.S. Not shown on the website is the fact that this heatsink works with 1150 sockets. It took me a good long while to be able to screw the heatsink into the mountings, I ended up having to use a screw driver to gently nudge the mounting away from the processor in order for the screws to take hold. Would have saved me a lot of headache if I'd tried that earlier.
