My first laptop, very pleased with it!7/27/2021 3:06:02 AM
Pros: - Outstanding display and speakers.
- Great backlit keyboard and trackpad.
- Very light and luxurious build quality.
- Pretty decent camera and microphone compared to other laptops I tried (I work in a computer shop so I got to try out a lot of laptops).
- Runs quiet when in normal usage, mild fan noise when under full load but definitely quieter that most laptops I've tried.
- I love the hinge that lifts the laptop by a few degrees when you open it. Great for ventilation and typing more comfortably.
- The packaging really gives you a premium unboxing experience.
- Great specs!
- The battery life is really good. Can last you an entire work day without charging if you know how to save on battery life.
Cons: - The numpad button on the trackpad is not the most responsive and that's a little disappointing because that is one of the features I was most excited about.
- Doesn't really bother me but I know a lot of people get pretty mad about it: there is no audio jack. There are 2 type C ports and the laptop does come with a dongle as well as an RJ-45 dongle.
- I actually wanted a model with 16GB of RAM and A 512GB SSD with a Ryzen 5 5500U but the only configurations this laptop has are this one and a 5500U/8GB/512GB. The RAM was pretty important for me since I am going to study computer science and didn't want to be limited so I decided to go with more than what I needed rather than less.
Overall Review: Overall Great price for the product, I've done extensive research before buying the laptop and I am glad to see that it payed off. Recommended for anyone seeking a high quality laptop for studying, coding and media usage. Not really fit for gaming or rendering but that's expected from a laptop without a gaming GPU.

The perfect laptop7/23/2021 4:58:12 AM
Pros: 1tb sad
16gb ram
Great processor
Awesome screen quality
The touch pad screen/number pad buttons are cool and come in handy
Harmon kardon speaker
The lid is easy to open
Lightweight
Cons: No 3.5mm jack, but it comes with a usb-c adapter for it
No Ethernet port, but it's thin, and does come with a usb-a adapter
Overall Review: I was looking for a laptop that had decent specs for programming, watching movies, listening to music, etc, but without a discrete GPU, and this is exactly what I was looking for. The processor is phenomenal, it has a huge 1tb ssd, the screen quality is great, there's 16gb of ram - I couldn't he happier.
Pros: Sturdy build
Ultra light
Performs well as mobile workstation for VMs
Support from linux for easy use (Ubuntu takes some google work, Manjaro worked out of the box)
14 hour battery life in windows, 28 hours in manjaro for light use
Cons: Hardwired memory, no ability to expand/upgrade
Asus software is just bloatware, poorly optimized and slow on a super fast system
Overall Review: After 4 months of use it was time for a review. Major positive that it comes with windows 10 pro, have not updated to 11 yet as Microsoft always screws up something (see AMD CPU Scheduler issues on 11 launch). Pretty straight forward to set up for a light workstation, bios easy to configure to run virtualization. I bought this as a laptop to study and learn on while working on cyber security certifications and it has not disappointed yet, 16 total cores means you are very hard pressed to make this thing slow down in any meaningful way.
Have set it up to dual boot both Windows and Linux. Even though I couldnt find any distros that officially support the laptop Ubuntu worked out of the box with just a few quirks with all but one being solvable. Arch Linux, specifically manjaro worked out of the box no need to configure anything. And on Linux its blazing fast. Battery life is amazing as well in both win10 and Linux but crazy in manjaro when running in lower power settings (16 hours while at work studying and streaming video on battery power with some juice still left)
Only real downside is the memory, its hardwired so you cant upgrade it or expand it.

Exactly What I Expected8/10/2021 8:13:54 AM
Pros: The laptop looks great. The screen is bright enough. They Ryzen CPU is fast and 16GB of RAM pairs with it perfectly.
Windows Hello with the IR camera is convenient.
Having the number pad as a display on the trackpad is a nice compromise to actually getting a number pad on a 14" laptop which doesn't really exist as far as I can see.
Cons: The number pad on the trackpad is not perfect. The lack of tactile feedback is missing from the experience while using it. Doesn't perfectly replace an actual number pad but it is a sufficient enough replacement. However, I don't want to dock the rating on this product though because of it. I still think it is a net gain on a 14" laptop.
Overall Review: I would recommend this laptop for anyone who needs a decent light weight laptop and is not looking for a product to game on or to do demanding task like CAD work.

Great Value but Has some Drawbacks8/4/2021 8:39:13 AM
Pros: - Bright, colorful screen
- 16 GB RAM + 1 TB SSD? Steal at $900
- 8 core, 16 thread CPU? Amazing deal
- Very light and compact
- Keyboard is great
Cons: - Screen seems to creak a lot (opening and closing)
- 14" seems small (coming from 15.6" Macbook). Wish they had these specs on a Zenbook 15.
- No headphone jack. I knew this buying it, but I can live without it. For some potential buyers out there, it might be non-negotiable. Does come with a dongle (usb-C to headphone jack).
- integrated graphics. For those not gaming or doing any heavy editing, this is perfectly okay.
Overall Review: It has the best specs for the value as an ultrabook. Perfect for coding/engineering students or office use. The main concern I have is the screen creaking. I wish it was a 15.6", but I'll get used to the smaller screen. The missing headphone jack doesn't bother me, and I don't plan on gaming with this computer as well. These last 3 cons are very minor; I knew these before I bought it, but I wanted to let any potential buyers about its drawbacks, obvious or not.
I want to highlight how awesome the screen is. It's bright (400 nits) and has great color accuracy. One of the reasons I bought this laptop is its price and how its an amazing deal. A Macbook Air costs $100 more and it has 8GB less RAM and 750 GB less SSD space. For $900, you will not find another ultrabook with better specs.
If you are looking for something with similar specs but a dedicated GPU, I would recommend taking a look at the Swift X.

Great laptop under $100010/4/2021 4:37:52 PM
Pros: Very fast
A full 1tb of storage
Keys have good travel
Display covers 100% srgb
Nice metal case
Good battery life
Cons: The down firing speakers are terrible if you are not using it on a hard surface
Plastic screen and bezel
Would've been nice to have a display brighter than 400 nits
Overall Review: It's a great laptop for under $1000 if you don't need a super color accurate, or bright display. You might also want to consider an Hp envy.
