Pros: Easy installation in a cooler master stacker 830, didnt have to remove fan brackets like I thought I might. Disc interface installed drivers perfectly in about 2 minutes. Performance is wonderful. 30~ fps in crysis all maxed details on athlon x2 6400+. Though, other than in crysis, it provides far more than adequate framerates, (50+ strong at the least) where the detail settings become largely irrelevant to the card.The cooling is also fantastic, though the pipes get quite warm, thats the idea. Clocked past factory is probably noticable im sure, when combined with the heatsink, just that I havent owned a factory clocked 5850 to test.

Cons: Significant size. Much larger than any other graphics card I have owned in the past, though it still seemed to fit, causing no complications, into a full tower. Price. I suppose for 300 dollars I would have wanted unchallenged flawless performance, because even for that much it isnt totally unstoppable.

Overall Review: have made no attempt to overclock and probably wont due to its above factory alterations. I am absolutely more than happy with it and would recommend it to anyone who wants superior performance from a 5850.

Pros: This card is QUIET. It has a great heatsink, mine idles around 29-30C with the fan set to 50% and the fan is still dead silent. It's only when you crank it up to 70-80% that it begins to get loud. It's constructed well, the heat pipes extend out of the card and can be easily cooled by a side fan. I upgraded from an old 8800 GTS and this thing is quite an improvement, I can run everything at max settings, even crysis warhead on 1920x1200 at a decent framerate. Came with Modern Warfare 2 which I otherwise would have never purchased.

Cons: I think the length is the same as a 5870, not really an issue if you have a normal sized case. Fits in my CM690 with plenty of room.

Overall Review: One of the better 5850s on the market.

Pros: Got this card for crossfire. Came with free Modern Warfare 2. Card looks cool. Got it this morning, popped it in working great. For me with a 1900 x 1200 screen x fire really makes everything look and feel much more smooth and accurate in my fps games. bfbc2, crysis (yes it does) L4D2, etc. used 10.9 cat drivers. Do not ever use the CD that comes with your card. just get the latest from amd. I think sometimes when you see people just flame all over themselves when they get a damaged or bad card you can understand their frustrations but I had no difficulty installing and using this card. My guess is that most of the time it has to do with not having the right equipment to mate with this type of card. Yes and sometimes everyone gets a DOA. Deal.

Cons: Does not make sandwiches.

Overall Review: I went with this card because of the deal, as well as the fact that I like to see manufactures that reply to reviews. Hugo sold me, seems passionate about his products and throws his email address out freely. Pros: Decently priced 5850, nice factory overclock, 60 dollar game included (Modern Warfare 2). Beefy GPU heat sink, nice passive coolers on voltage regulators. 2 year warranty. Only eight screws disassembles the entire card.

Cons: The first night I got this, I took this thing apart--taking the other reviewer's suggestion to reapply the thermal compound. Glad I did, PowerColor seemed to have just literally slapped a huge glob of thermal compound on the GPU, threw the heat sink on and left it. It was quite a mess when I removed the heatsink, and took me a while to clean the outskirts of the Cypress GPU. Re-applied the thermal compound and all will hopefully be well. However, rather worryingly I discovered there are NO HEATSINKS on the RAM chips on this card. I think that may be the reason why people are saying the card randomly dies on them after a few months. I haven't yet put any forms of heatsinks onto the RAM, but I am fearful that the RAM at these ridiculous clock speeds may easily overheat and die. I would greatly appreciate it if PowerColor could spend the extra 10 cents and put passive low-profile heatsinks onto the RAM. If You plan on doing CF with this, the two cards have to be right next to each othe

Overall Review: or the bridge closest with the heat pipe will come in contact. If you own this card or are thinking about buying one, I strongly suggest you re-apply the thermal compound and maybe consider getting some low-profile passive heatsinks for the RAM. Overall I'd say this an ok card. Has some major design flaws that I'd really like to see fixed. Next time I think I'd be better off just buying a regular 5850 instead. The GPU runs at about 39C idle, but I am far more concerned about the RAM chips. I personally believe this is not worth the $305 price-tag, more in the $280's would be better. Not so sure about buying again from PowerColor.

Pros: Price! 1gig, hdmi port, on board audio with HDMI... huge fan on it.

Cons: it is big/long, but i don't think you will find a "compact" 5850, or anything similar.

Overall Review: Runs pretty cool (compared to my old 880gtx) about 36c idle and 50ish under full load - this is with bad cable management and sitting right next to a sound card. It handled everything i could manage to throw at it - I am getting another one soon.

Pros: Excellent Card! Very attractive cooler (as you can tell in the photos) that is both cool and quiet. Even at these stock overclocked rates, it runs cooler than my launch Sapphire 5850. I never was a fan of non-reference cards, but between this card and my Powercolor 5770, I think Power Color has the handle on making an excellent non reference card.

Cons: This is where I'm amending my previous review. While this card is long, it's not too much longer than the Sapphire 5850. The thing is, that little bit longer is just long enough to prevent a hard drive near it. So, while it's a long card, it is by no means as long as a 5970, GTX480, some of the initial 5830's or even the 5870.

Overall Review: What amazes me most is that the Powercolor 5870 is on this same PCB...and this PCB is smaller than the Reference 5870. So, oddly, this pcb is a fantastic job on Powercolor's design team for the 5870, and conversely a slight stumble on the reference 5850.

Pros: upgrade from a 5770, turned up the eye candy (AA, etc) a notch @ 1920x1200 and gets around 1.5 x the FPS (not 2X). but only uses around 25% more system power. temps run very similar: at idle around 35C and peaking around 60C for both cards (the 5770 had a dual heatpipe design). System temp @ 30C

Cons: price :(, SIZE! The card is LONG. With two 6 pin plugs in place, *barely* fit past my cases HD brackets

Overall Review: I have a Q6600 (G0) in a gigabyte p35 board. I run the gigabyte AI over clock (cpu goes from 1.6-3.0GHz depending on load). With the 5770 the system would idle around 110w, peak at 205w during gaming. With 5850 range is 125w-265w. Measured with kill-a-watt P3.

Pros: Overclocks more than preset and still runs cool. Crossfire soon!

Cons: Barely fit in my Coolermaster Storm Scout Case.

Overall Review: I paired it with a NVIDIA 9800 GTX For PhysX. After running many PhysX benchmarks, it didn't really struggle comparing software and hardware PhysX. But, I do have a i7-980x that makes a lot of difference.
