Pros: Relatively cheap for older memory. 2 gigs makes even older machines much faster with XP. Installed on an old Presario with a 2.6ghz Celeron with zero problems. Ran memtest for 24 hours straight with zero errors.
Cons: No heat spreader. I don't think of this as a con, although I think some people might. If it doesn't get warm to the touch, it doesn't need a heatsink!
Overall Review: Great shipping from newegg, as usual. Made an old computer very usable for a relatively low price. Since I had to replace the 40 gig drive (noise made it obvious the bearings would go soon), the increase from 512 meg to 2 gig, and the faster 80 gig drive made the machine quite adequate.
Pros: Plugged the 2GB into a Dell Dimension 2400 with 256MB and it was recognized and worked right away. Great improvement in speed - before the pc loaded and worked at unacceptable slow speed and now it zips along!
Overall Review: Good value for the money - prompt efficient service.
Pros: Initially, I was worried about some of the reviews of some PQI memory sticks being dead on arrival. Since this was a kit, I installed both sticks seperately to ensure that each one worked. No problems. Afterwards I installed them as intended and all is well and working fine. No problems at all and my older PC.
Cons: Although this memory is being used in an older 2Ghz PC, the only issue that could be a con is the price. Compared to the newer types is memory, the could be considered expensive. LOL!
Overall Review: Highly recommended if you want to upgrade an older system on the cheap. Went from 256MB to 2GB of memory for about $100. Newegg's shipping was super fast. I received the memory at just over 24 hours! I am currently in the planning stages of building a new PC. I will be ordering my parts from Newegg.
Pros: Cheapest on the Net
Cons: nothing so far
Pros: Plug and Play...worked just fine right out of the box. No hassles at all, Win XP recognized it right away. Installed in an older AMD socket A computer with MSI MB.
Pros: -VERY fast compared to how it was
-Great shipping from newegg
Cons: I didn't buy the right ram the first time? (Not really a con..)
Overall Review: Crucial and the dell website say that my pc can only handle 1GB (512mb per slot) but this worked perfectly.. I guess it was a good thing to take a chance and double what it would be (and its now 8x as fast [literally, from 256mb to 2gb])
Pros: Good memory for the price. Worked good in the Dell I fixed for a friend.
Cons: None that I know of.
Overall Review: Might by again.
Pros: - Worked.
- Cheaper than $100 at Best Buy/Geeksquad
- Better feeling buying new RAM than old RAM at a used store
Cons: - Tad bit expensive
Overall Review: Worked fine. I put the RAM in my IBM NetVista (2.4ghz) and turned on Windows Server 2003. Everything ran fine and still continues to run excellent. I wish I had got this RAM upgrade a long time ago. You can't go wrong with 2gb of RAM.
