OCZ Vertex LE (Limited Edition) 2.5
  • neweggOwned For: 1 month to 1 year

Pros: In addition to restarting the Mac using the power button and setting the indicated Energy Preferences "Put hard disk to sleep when possible" to Unchecked, if one is using Smart Sleep it should be set to Hibernate.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Vendors appear to be working on a better fix to SSD sleep problems.

OCZ Vertex LE (Limited Edition) 2.5
  • neweggOwned For: 1 month to 1 year

Pros: On Mac's where SSD's appear to be "Bricked" when the laptop goes to sleep can be fixed by restarting the computer with the power button depressed until restart occurs and going to System Preferences>Energy Saver and unchecking or if necessary toggling "Put hard drive to sleep when possible" to unchecked. This should be done in both the Battery and Power Adapter panes. Another fix is to plug in a usb mouse where upon the powerbook should awaken, putting the powerbook back to sleep and unplugging the mouse. The computer then will work normally.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Doubled the performance of MacBook

GIGABYTE GA-EP45-UD3P LGA 775 Intel P45 ATX Intel Motherboard

2 out of 5 eggs Manual improvements needed 11/19/2009

This review is from: GIGABYTE GA-EP45-UD3P LGA 775 Intel P45 ATX Intel Motherboard

Pros: Quality appears to be very good.

Cons: Manual has several errors including 8X pci slot labeled as 16X, Connector for case wiring connections has polarity designations do not agree with manual for as + signs should be back to back rather than switched with one designation being positive and one negative. That said the reset and power switches, are just that, switches so polarity is not totally relevant. Motherboard has a 12V 8 pin connector and Raidmax power supply only had a 4 pin 12V connector and this difference was not disussed in either manual. For those of us who read the manuals and have less experience with these things these omissions do cause confusion.
