DELL Laptop Latitude D630 Intel Core 2 Duo 2.20 GHz 2 GB Memory 80 GB HDD 14.0

4 out of 5 eggs Great laptops - concerned about contents 06/21/2012

This review is from: DELL Laptop Latitude D630 Intel Core 2 Duo 2.20 GHz 2 GB Memory 80 GB HDD 14.0" Windows 7 Home Premium

Pros: These are nearly indestructible laptops - of course within reason. I've setup and used dozens of these Latitude D models over the years. The Dx30 series (D630, D830) were the last in the D series before the new models came out. Great color combo - looks neat and trim.

Cons: Concerned on the other reviews as I have not actually purchased this specific laptop from Newegg with the current discount - June 2012. The picture shows the 9-cell extended batt. I called newegg to confirm and they can't or won't provide anything additional to what is already on the site.

Other Thoughts: I need to purchase 6 of these and am hesitant to as I can't get a clear answer from newegg as to what really comes with them. one reviewer talked about the auto/air adapter and the short cable. the regular adaptor that ships from Dell is better made and very durable with the nice cord wrap. I'd love a review from anyone else that has bought these this month to review their purchase and contents.

  • neweggOwned For: 1 week to 1 month

Pros: Linksys typical menu system and interface - very popular among home users.

Cons: Struggled maintaining stability while protecting a small business with their own SBS 2003 server (Exchange). Limited port routing abilities - even issues with port speed negotiation with the SBS 2003 server.

Other Thoughts: Fine for home users - but anyone with a few other requirements should look elsewhere for SMB. The cheaper price isn't worth the hassle and phone calls from the users.
