APEX Vortex 3620 SGCC / ABS ATX Mid Tower Gaming Computer Case

5 out of 5 eggs Amazing case 04/19/2013

This review is from: APEX Vortex 3620 SGCC / ABS ATX Mid Tower Gaming Computer Case

Pros: Okay, I've had this case for over 2 years and I gotta say it is totally worth it! Very strong and sturdy, full of features, black inside, very easy to hide all the extra cables, wide which is good for an aftermarket CPU cooler (I didn't think mine would fit when I bought it, but it actually has quite a bit of room to spare!), bezel isn't too complicated but not boring, side panel has awesome design which holds fans too, both panels come off, 3x 5.25" bays and 2x 3.5" bays, again: very sturdy!

Cons: PSU on top, kinda weak plastic front-bezel, probably not much room if you put a huge video card in. USB/eSATA port on the bezel looks kinda cheap, hard to clean out dust, gotta really get some 25gal air compressor for that, or wash it out well

Other Thoughts: GET IT

4 out of 5 eggs I love it 08/06/2011

This review is from: Rosewill RCX-ZAIO-92 - 92mm Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler Fan

Pros: Huge fan, cools very well, 4-pin connector, looks nice, can be quiet and still do tha job well (i usually have music playing so i dont really hear it even at its max). Does a great job at cooling! Im not a gamer or a video editer, i mostly do music studio stuff so i dont overheat my CPU too much, but tha stock fan kept my overclocked Athlon x4 3.5GHz CPU at around 40C and this cooler took me down to 31C (COOLER THAN MY SYS TEMP!!). Tha lowest my CPU has been so far is 26C!

Also, if i ever plan to do some heavy CPU-usage stuff, im not worried even one bit about it overheating. Great cooler especially for tha price.

Cons: took me a bit to install it... I put on tha thermal paste perfectly but then during tha installation, it was moving around like crazy cuz i couldnt get it down (BTW, I have AMD). So idk if my paste is all messed upp or not. I dont wanna take it off to check if its aight. But if it presses down enough, i guess tha paste should spread out.

Other Thoughts: Eventually i got it on. It looks great, and REALLY helps to cool tha rest of my case. I took tha fan off my stock cooler and attached it to my 70C video card. With this CPU cooler, tha video card is at 34C!!

Pros: I love thatt its cheap, its red/black (fav colors, my comp is all red/black), its not too big, works with 2 monitors, 512MB RAM (although told me its 2.2GB...?)

Cons: couldnt get it to work at first, but it could be my MB problem

kinda gets heated easily

Other Thoughts: Its pulling 2 monitors which is exactly whatt i bought it for. At first, I had alot of problems getting it to work with my motherboard. But tha reviews for my MB said thatt many video cards dont work right. I got a bit scared cuz im on a tight budget and cant afford another card. Luckily, i set up everything on tha carpet and after a few tries, i got it to work. installed 7 and put everything back into my case. never had a problem again.
