Pros: No problem running at the advertised 8-8-8-24 timings and DDR3 1600 speeds after some minor BIOS changes. Nice price after 15% off.
4GB sticks leave 2 more slots open for future expansion on my mobo - replaced 2 x 2GB sticks instead of getting an additional 2 x 2GB set of RAM
Cons: Not enough to dock an egg - but the Cas was 11(!) when they were installed out of the box. It was expected from reading other reviews though so I was ready to do some tweaking.
Other Thoughts: If you are not comfortable tweaking BIOS settings or finding info online of how to get the RAM to run at the advertised speeds I would look elsewhere.
Otherwise its a great set of RAM - took me very little time to get everything running at advertised speeds
Pros: Good price/performance, reliable. Bought for a PC build for my parents and it handles all the basic R/W operations for CDs and DVDs just fine.
Cons: Definitely loud when spinning up but nothing abnormal compared to other drives I've used. Unless you're sitting right next to the tower I doubt it would hardly be an issue for anyone.
Other Thoughts: If you're just looking for a basic DVD writer to throw into a PC this works just fine for the price.
No included SATA cable just so any potential buyers are aware - make sure you have one on hand.
This review is from: Rosewill CAPSTONE Series CAPSTONE-550 Continuous 550W & 50 degree C Power Supply
Pros: Good buy for the wattage and 80 Plus Gold PSU.
Cons: Just died this morning (Jan 6th) after having it in a build for less than 2 months. Even worse this is a PC i built for my parents who are 5 hours away. PC is just running an i7 and gtx 650 - both factory clocks - nothing that could've strained a decent 550W supply.
Had the best reviews/price point for the wattage I was looking for so I picked this one out hoping for something I could "set and forget" for them. Now I get to scramble to figure out how to get them back and running ASAP.
Other Thoughts: First power supply I bought from Rosewill and the only PSU I've ever had fail on me (even worse not me - but a PC built for someone else). Always stuck with Corsair for my gaming builds and will for all other builds from now on. even if I pay a premium.READ FULL REVIEW
