5 out of 5 eggs Works! 04/16/2014

This review is from: Apevia CVTUSB32 USB 3.0 to USB 2.0 Converter Cable

Pros: It converts USB 3.0 headers to USB 2.0 inputs for your mobo.

Cons: Nothing

Other Thoughts: I bought this to convert the USB 3.0 headers on my SilverStone SG05 into USB 2.0 because my mobo did not have USB 3.0 inserts except for in the back panel. Thus, I am now able to use the 2 front USB headers.

Pros: It works. It looks sleek.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I bought it because I was cheap and didn't have the budget to buy 2 sticks right away. I'm now buying my second stick for 16GB of RAM in my mitx build!

It came back on sale about 3 weeks after I first purchased it.

Pros: Has USB 3.0 connectivity for the back panel IO. Cheap. Good placement of inputs. Works as advertised with my Intel Xeon E3 1270.

Cons: No USB 3.0 inputs for front panel headers, but at least it came with USB 3.0 inputs on the back panel IO.

Other Thoughts: This is a very general mobo. I use it as a gaming/video editing build. Since it is cheap and entry level, there isn't room for many upgrades. There are only 2 Sata slots so I will probably use both for storage instead of 1 storage and 1 optical drive.

Overall, I'm happy with this mobo. If I could do it over, I would definitely have payed the extra $30 or so to buy a mobo with more features/upgradeability; but that is not a knock on this mobo. For what it is advertised to do and it's price, it is a very good mobo!
