E.O.L Tech deceptive ad
Pros: None I know of.
Cons: Deceptive item info by this seller. HD was 8 years old and is an OEM version that has no manufacturer warranty, only whatever EOL will offer. None of that was in the listing and in fact it alluded to it being a proper manufacturer warranty.
typical junk
Pros: worked until the warranty ran out
Cons: This has a two year warranty. I used this just a few months over the two years and it pooped out. This was babied, never run hot or abused, my pc idles most of the time. Probably just a single component that quit. How companies can use junk components so you end up with something that should last many years only lasts a couple. On top of that the manurefacturer tries to blame it on the mobo.
Consider the companies support before buying
Pros: It is a great device when it works.
Cons: I bought this and it will switch over between monitors fine, but from the start it seemed to be touchy with doing the keyboard/mouse change. I thought maybe it was my setup somehow, but it just got worse even when I tried things to help. I contacted the company and they asked for the invoice in some kind of cryptic way. I sent that and after no response I asked about it all. I then got a response asking why they had my invoice but knew nothing about this. Not very impressive. I contacted egg to help and they ignore me. So just be warned what may happen if you have problems with this company.
Didn't last long
Pros: When it worked it seemed to be great.
Cons: Blew out after very little use.
Overall Review: I decided to write this review after all I have had to put up with. I bought this tuner and it set up easily and worked well. I used it a few times for OTA channels and then it sat unused for a couple months. When I went to use it again on a cable system it would not find any channels when it scanned. After a lot of time trying many scans and emails attempting things ultimately I was sent to their RMA division. This did turn out to be a defective device not of my doing but of course I had to pay to ship it back. Then, I suppose partially my fault it was sent to an old address of mine and not the one I sent it back from. Then I had to go through a bunch of rigamarol, lost time and a $5. cost to get that straightened out. I had better get a properly working device that lasts a long time or I will be back to tell. A lot of this junk is just that, junk. That is known by all and there needs to be more responsibility and the costs bore by the manufacturers and sellers. I am not very impressed with newegg either in these type of things. They hand off the warranty after a short period of time usually 30 days to the manufacturer and for example like this item I am then dealing with all of these shenanigans and extra shipping costs. If an item is only going to last a short time newegg should warranty it themselves. Not my first go around with egg with something like this.
BIOS wont work
Pros: Haven't seen any yet. Paperweight?
Cons: From the minute I actuated this Mobo I have not been able to get it to boot into the bios properly. Several unproductive tech calls to ASUS have only ended with the realization that it needs repair. Newegg has avoided my emails and ASUS has yet to provide me info for a return. I also think that they expect me to pay for return shipping. Huh?
Overall Review: 1 egg is actually too high. VERY disappointed in this Mobo, Newegg and ASUS.
Ended up a mistake in the listing or the wrong item somehow, but they took care of the return and refund.
