3 out of 5 eggs Works, but to big 01/30/2013

This review is from: TRENDnet TPL-304E2K Powerline AV Adapter Kit with Bonus Plug Up to 200Mbps

Pros: Start to work right after plug it in. When power fuse burned out data connection stays.

Cons: First, it is too big, and takes over both outlets, no matter in which you plug it in. I bought it to connect my work-group laser printer, and pug it in to adapter; the power fuse burned out momentary. Fortunately data connection stays, so I decide not to RMA. However, to have other outlets to work, I had to use six outlets extender, which made everything much bigger. There are some issues with data speed, while one connection in the room and other in the hallway next to it, data speed is perfect, and all indicators are green. As soon as I connect them on separate floors E-Link turns yellow and speed drops a little, and when I tried to use it on the other end of 100-feet extension cord outside of the home (not rolled in one circle) E-link got red, and the speed became pretty slow.

Other Thoughts: It hard to say that it is a good alternative to the wireless connection, maybe only if you have walls with a lot of metal in it.
