The best drive I've ever owned period!
Pros: Super Fast Samsung Magician is an excellent program and helps you update firmware, change settings and enable RAPID mode. Everything is manufactured in-house. When you take it out of the box you feel like you're getting jipped because it's so light. Feels like it's just a square of plastic, but I assure you, it is an amazing SSD.
Cons: Nothing at all. I guess the only con is that is isn't the PRO version. But I can't see any reason why you would need anything more and have also read that this out-performs the pro in certain circumstances.
Overall Review: This drive is fast and I mean FAST! I've been using SSD's for five years. I usually stick with OCZ and have recently moved to any brand that happens to be the cheapest. I just got a PNY Optima and it was causing huge issues with my PC. I replaced it with this and, it's absultly amazing. The PNY was locking up my PC and now that I have this, it's soooooo fast. Faster than any SSD I've ever used. I was getting Read speeds of over 500 and about 480 in write. But then I turned on Samsung's RAPID mode and I am achieving almost 1000MB/s read and write. It's insane! Everything is so fast. I now consider any other SSD an HDD compared to this. Get this drive and you won't be disappointed. Trust me.
Can't go wrong
Pros: Really great drive Cheap Excellent speeds
Cons: It's really loud when you burn something at full speed. But to me that's actually a pro because I like how powerful it sounds. You know it's really getting stuff done. Besides, I'm pretty sure all drives at this speed are loud. Again, only while burning though.
Overall Review: I was going to go with a Blu-ray drive for my latest build but found them to be a little to expensive as I was already going over-budget. Plus the regular DVD speeds aren't as good as a dedicated DVD burner. Coupled with the fact that I'd have to insatll software just to get blu-rays to play and that in reality, I really just wouldn't use it that much. I decided to just get a decent DVD Burner. For under $20 on a trusted brand like a Samsung, how can you go wrong? Look at the title. You can't
Great RAM
Pros: Great Ram. Works as advertized. Fast. Looks great. 16 gigs!
Cons: None
Overall Review: This RAM works great and this is one of the most trusted brands. I know that this is not a big deal and is just an aesthetic thing but I really love the way it looks. It's red and has a neat design. Four of them in my case that has all black components and a few red cords and fans, this really pops out while also going with the color scheme of my PC. I never thought I would have a computer with 16GB of RAM, but here I am today. Finally a computer where I am not maxing out my RAM constantly. Hell It's rare I even use over half of it.
Pros: Very Good. Looks nice. Works as advertized.
Cons: None
Overall Review: The power supply is one of those components that you really can't go wrong with so long as you don't get an untrusted brand and make sure you go with the correct wattage you need in order to maintain your specific system. It works as advertized and I have had no problems with it.
Great OS
Pros: -Super fast. (Especially coupled with an SSD) -Easy to use -Cheapest version you can find.
Cons: The new interact that it boots into by default is clearly oriented towards touch screen devices and is pointless for a desktop or laptop computer. Luckily, Microsoft is finally catching on that users should have the option to turn some of these features off.
Overall Review: If you have ever used Windows 7, Vista, or even XP, you have used Windows 8. It's not to say they are all identical, I'm just saying it's not nearly as bad as people made it out to be. If anything it is a faster, snappier version of Windows 7 with a lot of little UI improvements. The only thing that's not so great, is the new start screen. The big reason everyone always has a problem with windows 8. But with the addition of the 8.1 update as well as programs like Start8. You never have to see that new interface at all if you never want to.
Love Western Digital
Pros: Great Drive and very affordable. Does just what any 7200RPM hard drive should do.
Cons: It's not an SSD
Overall Review: I always always go with Western Digital. I've purchased at least 10 drives from them over the years and all of them still work today. I can't see a reason to go with anyone else as they are very reliable and have my trust.
