FSP Group Mini ITX / Flex ATX 80Plus Gold 300W Power Supply (FSP300-60FAG)
FSP Group Mini ITX / Flex ATX 80Plus Gold 300W Power Supply (FSP300-60FAG)

Pros: - Very efficient. - Quiet when under a real load. - Has a P4 socket, no EPS->P4 adapter needed for my motherboard. - Has 4 SATA sockets + 2 Molex sockets. - Very tight temperature range, from 46 to 52 degrees Celcius; normalizes to a constant 48 degrees after an hour of operation.

Cons: - You should better clarify all of its available sockets: I understood it had an EPS socket rather then a P4 socket and was uncertain whether it had 2 or 4 SATA sockets. I had ordered an EPS->P4 adapter, and found it unnecessary... money lost == egg lost. - Generates an very high acoustic frequency when my system is idle (<30 watt draw). It is still quiet (<16db), however!

Overall Review: - I had to make a plate so I could securely install it to my current Acer Aspire X3400 case... and I have to make another for my next case, which will be a Deepcool Tesseract SW (ATX PS2 profile). Reason: plates don't exist for these profiles! An untapped market, perhaps? - It was hard to find a readable schematic sheet so I could 'design' my custom plate within acceptable error (<1mm). In the end I measured the relative distances manually. - You should consider revising its product code "FSP300-60FAG". Acronyms can have unique challenges, and they sometimes yield with awkward results. This is one of them. - I would order another, if needed. And at least I now know this PSU's nuances, sockets, and dimensions!

Decent Upgrade, But Not Optimal

GIGABYTE GA-990FXA-UD3 Ultra (rev. 1.0) AM3+/AM3 AMD 990FX SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.1 USB 3.0 ATX Motherboards - AMD
GIGABYTE GA-990FXA-UD3 Ultra (rev. 1.0) AM3+/AM3 AMD 990FX SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.1 USB 3.0 ATX Motherboards - AMD

Pros: - AMD Athlon II X4 640 processor performs well - Controllable embedded orange LED strips - 3 reinforced PCIe x16 slots - Excellent black and metal look, no silly/funky colours - Effective heatsink layout, especially with the evaporative cooling tube - Plenty of space for aftermarket CPU heatsinks - Plenty of USB headers and ports - XMP profiles enables full performance of my RAM without any hassles - Impressive audio chipset - Efficient use of power - Installation was a breeze for me; but then again, building a system has always been easy (even relaxing) for me; mileage will vary person to person.

Cons: Fan controls needs serious work: - CPU fan starts and stays at 80% RPM (apply that to a 4kRPM fan... noisy!), forcing me to manually adjust the graph every bootup/reboot. Can only be adjusted in OS, not BIOS/UEFI. Just 1,200RPM keeps the CPU below 45 degrees Celsius in full sustained load!* - Sysfan1 faces the same issue/solution with the CPU fan. - Sysfan2 is fixed at maximum output with no control. - I will need to buy a fan controller for a task that a fairly expensive motherboard should be able to perform. -1 egg for low quality fan controls and -1 egg for forcing me to buy a fan controller. - I was charged for your 'free gift' at $33.59. I needed a motherboard, and I did not want a game. Completely undermined the $29.99 discount I got with this board. -1 egg. *- Yes, I know about Speedfan. Only useful once Windows has loaded Speedfan. But the noisy bootup remains. And this assumes I only use Windows. Issues like this is why proper fan controls should be implemented at the BIOS/UEFI level, and not be forced to use software solutions that depends on an OS.

Overall Review: CRITICAL: - Implement better fan controls at the BIOS/UEFI level. I'd code it if I had the means, but I'm not Gigabyte. - Reorientate the second PCIe x1 to the bottom slot, shift everything from the M.2 forward up one slot. - Implement a fan controller to Sysfan2. Secondary: - RGB the LED strips! - More SATA ports All in all, this board feels like a prototype model with its fan issues and placement of the third PCIe x16 slot. All other functions I've tested performs perfectly well, but poor fan control for a device that generates substantial heat that MUST be removed for reliable operation is inexcusable for a motherboard fabricator. Especially true for a motherboard that supports overclocking! Ignoring the fan issues, this board is rock solid and incredibly stable for extended operation (think Folding@Stanford for a week). Also passed Memtest86 (24 hours), Prime95 (24 hours) and Furmark (4 hours) without any issues. I haven't tested any OC features as of yet. If you want to buy this board: I advise using an after-market CPU heatsink/fan with low RPM/dB; and use an after-market fan controller instead of sysfan1/sysfan2. If Gigabyte fixes the fan issues and remove 'free' from 'free gift' (or remove the 'gift' itself), I would recommend this type of motherboard. Even more so if you adjust the PCIe alignments as well. But for now, with the fan issues, I cannot recommend this board. Disappointing, given this board's potent potential!

Works as Expected

DELL Laptop Grade B E5430 Intel Core i5 3rd Gen 3320M (2.60 GHz) 4 GB Memory 320 GB HDD 14.0" Windows 10 Pro 64-Bit
DELL Laptop Grade B E5430 Intel Core i5 3rd Gen 3320M (2.60 GHz) 4 GB Memory 320 GB HDD 14.0" Windows 10 Pro 64-Bit

Pros: - Cheap - Light-weight - Power efficient - All required ports work fine - Screen has no noticed damage such as dead pixels or scratches - Keyboard looks and feels new - Successfully swapped the HDD for a 256GB SSD and the RAM for 2 x 8GB RAM. ----- Loads OS, apps, and files at an incredible speed... Impressive! ----- 16GB of RAM allows me to conduct real work on it - The battery can last over 4 hours after the swap

Cons: - HDD is in early stages of death (I was planning on replacing it with an SSD anyways, so no loss of an Egg) - Screen was flickering until I tightened the contacts to a few loose cables (easy fix & no real damage, so no loss of an Egg) - The outside of the case shows that the laptop has been well used... moderate-level wear-and-tear albeit does not impact any component within; so no loss of an Egg - Provided a E5430-compatible replacement charger rather then original - it is slightly loose at its laptop port. Not enough to lose an Egg, however.

Overall Review: After evaluating a Win10 Home version E5430, I chose to order a Win10 Pro version for my work and college. With a few modifications (SSD & RAM replacements; tighten a few loose cables), it performs faster then expected! For work, school, and internet browsing, I would recommend a laptop like this. However, with its Intel HD4000 GPU, it isn't particularly suited for games.

DELL B Grade Laptop Latitude Intel Core i5-3210M 4GB Memory 250GB HDD 14.0" Windows 10 Home 64-Bit E5430

Pros: - Cheap - Small and power efficient - Runs all required application without problems - Well maintained case; almost no visual wear-and-tear outside normal contact areas (IE the bottom) - All ports intended for use work fine - No scratches to the screen - The keyboard looks and feels new

Cons: No cons.

Overall Review: The person who asked me to order it is both impressed of the quick shipping time and the laptop's overall performance and memory. Given the evaluation of the laptop, and that I'm also in need of my own laptop for work-on-the-go and as an asset for college, I ordered a similar E5430 with Win 10 Pro.

Excellent Fan Controller

Lamptron 5.25" 5-channel fan controller, 60w/channel, High/Low/Off switch
Lamptron 5.25" 5-channel fan controller, 60w/channel, High/Low/Off switch

Pros: Full delivery of power for each of my fans, and an LED strip! Durable design Aesthetically, it fits like a glove in my system

Cons: Out of order? Come on, I want to order more of these by the end of March 2017! 3.5" bays that use pressure to hold drives might not be able to securely install this device (Mastercase Pro, I'm looking at you!)

Excellent quality in an aesthetically pleasing fan!

Thermaltake Riing 12 Series High Static Pressure 120mm Circular Blue LED Ring Case/Radiator Fan CL-F038-PL12BU-A
Thermaltake Riing 12 Series High Static Pressure 120mm Circular Blue LED Ring Case/Radiator Fan CL-F038-PL12BU-A

Pros: Quiet! Any noise noticed is produced by the airflow rather then the fan itself. --- Oddly relaxing white noise. --- No high pitch whine! Rubber mounts for anti-vibration Soft light from the LED Ring --- Not too bright, not too dim. Moves an incredibly amount of thermal energy*... --- ... keeps my chips nice and cool... --- ... and I can warm a slice pizza with my system with a simple cardboard manifold added to my system's exhaust. XD! Aesthetically, this is arguably the best-looking fan in the market.

Cons: None.

Overall Review: Air seems to follow a conical path once pushed through the fan *Careful placement and layout is critical for a well-formed aerodynamic flow throughout the system.
