GIGABYTE GA-Z97X-UD5H-BK LGA 1150 Intel Z97 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard

Pros: Flawless performance. 4790K, 32 GB ram. OC not a problem.

Cons: Agree that fan connectors being all on the bottom of the board could be a problem. This could also be an asset in that the fan wires could be made inconspicuous. Not enough for the subtraction of an egg.

Booting from a M.2 PCIe snatches the desktop to your screen. Quite hip.

Other Thoughts: Smart of Gigabyte to bolster confidence that the board has been thoroughly tested, having gotten some that clearly were not,

GIGABYTE GA-H97N-WIFI LGA 1150 Intel H97 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 Mini ITX Intel Motherboard
  • Verified Owner
  • neweggOwned For: 1 month to 1 year

Pros: Used this board with a Xigmatek Nebula C. Board functioned as advertised. Much better bios set up than the Gigabyte's of the past. For this case, the connections on the board were well placed. i5-4690. WiFi and Bluetooth work well. With SSD drive boot to desktop in seconds. Win 7.

Cons: None yet.

Other Thoughts: Requires a 4 pin CPU plug. Using the 4600 GPU on the chip via HDMI out. Lite games, home unit.

Pros: Using the 4600 Graphics as well. Very fast and responsive. Overclocking not needed. Home unit. Runs cool (around 30c) even though in a small iTX case. Used stock cooler. Almost silent.

Cons: Never have liked the stock cooler set up, with the jive push pins, but hey. . . it works.
