5 out of 5 eggs Still going strong! 12/14/2013

This review is from: Cooler Master GX - 650W Power Supply with 80 PLUS Bronze Certification

Pros: My unit was purchased January 31st 2011!

It's been through numerous power outages, basically ran through entire hot humid summers, running my machine 24/7.

It powers a basic, old Q8200 based rig with a GTX 560 Ti and I've had no problems with this PSU whatsoever, never had to replace it, or contact CM support.

Cons: I guess they realised the reliability of their product and added a premium. heh.

Other Thoughts: I would recommend this PSU to anyone who is gunning for a casual gaming PC or HTPC. I bought this in January 2011 and it's still going strong.

5 out of 5 eggs Still Going Strong 01/21/2012

This review is from: Cooler Master GX - 650W Power Supply with 80 PLUS Bronze Certification

Pros: Quiet
Runs Cool - Doesn't heat my Mid-ATX case.

It went through a few power outages and 'brown outs' and I've had no problems with the PSU itself.

Cons: Was a little pricier when I bought it last year if I recall correctly.

Other Thoughts: Does it's job, been running virtually continuously since February 2011, I've only ever had it this computer off no more than 20 days (vacation/day trips) in that timeframe (best estimate).

Went through a few power outages/brown outs and had no issues with the PSU itself.

Bought it with a GTX 560 Ti to upgrade an older desktop to an HTPC/modest gaming build.

Pros: This thing is a great display. Colors are crisp and vibrant especially with SPLENDID video presets. It is bright so this is a pro for me, may be a con for others. I play FPS and this monitor is great for it, games I have tested was BFBC2, BF3, MW2 & 3 and this thing makes the games look pretty amazing compared to my older monitor, which was an Acer 18.5" G18HV. I bought this thing solely for PC Gaming and I really like the way they look now, especially at 1920x1080.

No ghosting, which was a problem with my 18.5" Acer @ 5ms e.g. scrolling through webpages that was heavy in text brought on considerable ghosting in my Acer. The VS247HP however looks great, no ghosting, words do not become a blur whilst scrolling/skimming through a news article or message boards et al.

No light bleed in normal desktop use/gaming applications applications.

Contrast is also a plus, had to turn mine on manually (ASCR) with my menu buttons on the monitor. Also the Menu is very easy and simple to navi

Cons: The monitors stand, it wobbles, but not worth deducting an egg. It's not as if the monitor acts like a Newton's Cradle.

Promo, I bought the monitor for $189, Newegg offered promo 4 days AFTER I had bought the monitor LOL.

Other Thoughts: I'm very happy with this monitor purchase, do not regret in the slightest, my unit did ship from Mississauga. Ordered on a Saturday, shipped Monday, got it Wednesday.

If you're viewing this review and this unit is still $10 off with the promo code, which ends tomorrow January 17th then BUY this monitor, it'll be the best $179 you'd have spent this new year.

Sorry to other people looking to see more input on HDMI, as past reviews have mentioned problems. That was a non-issue for me because I do not intend to use HDMI for any reason on my monitor.
