Pros: Fast, crisp, and clear photos. Great depth of field at 1.8f.
Cons: Slow to focus in mid to low light.
Other Thoughts: Fantastically crisp photos with pro looking depth of field (bokeh). Fast in low light with aperture of 1.8f, but slow to auto focus. I often miss the shot waiting for it to focus in low light. This has forced me to learn how to quickly manually focus, which isn't such a bad thing.
I take a lot of portraits of 1-2 people and this "nifty fifty" works great, but when taking group shots, 50mm is too much power and I am forced to back away a great deal. If I had to do it over, I would purchase the Nikkor 35mm 1.8f for about the same price.
