This review is from: ASUS Z97-A LGA 1150 Intel Z97 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard
Pros: Cheaper of the good Z97 boards. Lots of features. Rock solid and stable as always from ASUS. Overclocks my G3258 Pentium with ease. Good features for the money.
Cons: None that I can think of.
Other Thoughts: Absolutely awesome motherboard. I have been using ASUS products for many years now with great results. My last motherboard was an ASUS P5QL-Pro and it lasted me 5+ years and still works. Cannot go wrong with ASUS! Quality and price!READ FULL REVIEW
Pros: Unlocked multiplier.
Low power consumption.
Overclocks like a BEAST!
Cheap as dirt!
Games VERY well when overclocked!
Cons: Dual core. No Hyper threading.
Other Thoughts: I bought this chip and an ASUS Z97-A motherboard to upgrade an aging Core 2 Quad Q6600 and I couldn't be happier. When using a Corsair H50 water cooling setup with an additional fan for push/pull I am getting 4.2Ghz (42x100) on just 1.120 volts. Under full prime load the temps never go over 50c and it games as well as my friends Core i5-2500. I highly recommend this chip for a budget gaming build. DayZ runs SMOOTH now.READ FULL REVIEW
Pros: I bought the Corsair H50 when upgrading because I wasn't sure if I could make my Thermaltake Frio cooler work on the new LGA1150 socket. Wow I am glad I purchased this water cooling system! It's cheap, well made, easy to install and works AWESOME! I did add an additional fan for a push/pull system of air flow and I cannot be happier with it. With my Intel G3258 Pentium overclocked to 4.6Ghz it keeps it under 60C under full prime load! I definitely recommend it!
Cons: The only con I can think of is that it doesn't come with a second fan for a push/pull setup of airflow. Other than that, it works a treat and keeps my overclocked G3258 nice and cool under full load.
Other Thoughts: For the price you cannot beat this little guy! I highly recommend added a second 120mm fan for a push/pull setup though. My G3258 Intel CPU Overclocked from 3.2ghz to 4.6Ghz stays around 30C idle and NEVER goes over 60C under full prime95 load. Unless you can afford a higher end closed loop water cooling system, get this one! It is FANTASTIC!READ FULL REVIEW
