Pros: See my previous review for details.
Cons: See previous review
Other Thoughts: I found a fix for the SSD "No Bootable Device" without sending it in to ACER. I got a Rosewill SATA to USB Cable Converter. I tried running it through USB, but that didn't work (the hard drive showed up in Device Manager, but was not listed under "Computer").
So then I plugged the hard drive directly into my desktop. When I booted, Windows 7 saw a corrupt disk and ran disk repair on it. I could then access my files through my desktop computer. So I shut my computer down and put the SSD back into my laptop and the laptop booted just fine. In fact, I'm typing this review on my laptop.
I would still recommend the firmware update mentioned by another reviewer below.
Pros: While it worked, it's been great. Incredibly fast boot time. Great gameplay on modern games. Excellent connectivity to the internet. Great battery life. Great screen resolution and quality.
Cons: Windows 8 is stored on a solid state drive (SSD instead of a traditional hard drive (HDD). If your SSD dies, then you lose Windows. The laptop worked great until I opened today, and I noticed it had "0% Battery". It immediately died, and then I tried plugging it in and booting it back up. All that will come up now is "No bootable device found." So it may be that the SSD and the battery are dead. I'm not sure yet.
I bought the warranty, so I'm about to send this in. Even still, from reading the other reviews, this seems like a common problem with these laptops.
Other Thoughts: For what it's worth, I bought two of these laptops at the same time, one for me and one for my wife. My wife's laptop is still going just fine.READ FULL REVIEW
Pros: Huge display, excellent quality, no dead pixels
Cons: DVI on this monitor will let me go to the max resolution (1920x1080). However, when I try this resolution on HDMI, there is a black ring of unused pixels around my screen (1" on the sides, 0.5" on the top and bottom). I can't get it to use my entire monitor unless I go down to 1680x1050. This is simply unacceptable for a 1080p monitor. Anyone know what to do here?
Other Thoughts: I tried looking through the monitor menus, but I could not find any sort of auto-adjust. I also restarted my computer multiple times in the hopes that it would auto-adjust...but it has not. This black ring around my screen is getting annoying.READ FULL REVIEW
