PROSCAN PLT8223G 8.0" Google Certified Touchscreen Tablet Android 4.1 Jelly Bean
PROSCAN PLT8223G 8.0" Google Certified Touchscreen Tablet Android 4.1 Jelly Bean

Pros: Low Cost, decent display, thin and light.

Cons: Weak wifi, not good at multi-tasking, battery life could be better.

Overall Review: This tablet is a case of getting what you paid for. It is a very low cost 8' tablet and so isn't the fastest thing, the wifi doesn't have a lot of range though it seems ok for my house and the local coffee shop. However when you consider the price ($50 for a refurb for me). It is a pretty good deal. I have also noted that if you do have a weak wifi signal it seems like the wifi starts consuming more power, reducing battery life. I bought a cheap case, usb keyboard, stand combo off of the net for $12 and it works perfectly with this tablet. Makes a nice little device for taking to the coffee shop to answer email, catch up on news, take short notes at meetings, etc. One other thing I noted is that the android browser seems to have much better performance than chrome (both pre-installed). One other thing, it seems like if you have a weak wifi signal it will really slow down this tablet as it takes a long time, to time out and so seems very slow at those times. A strong wifi signal and things move along at a reasonable rate. All in all if you are looking for a very cheap tablet for light duty work this is a decent buy. If you are looking for something faster, etc. Up your budget to the $150 to $200 price range.
