TP-LINK TL-WDR3600 Dual Band Wireless N600 Router, Gigabit, 2.4GHz 300Mbps+5GHz 300Mbps, 2 USB port, IP QoS, Wireless On/Off Switch

Pros: SUPER fast when it functioned properly.

Cons: Drops signal. When I would be typing up a blog post on WordPress, my cursor would suddenly disappear because the signal from the router would drop.

In addition, I was never able to get a strong signal. Even my ASUS N300 single band router has a stronger signal.

I flashed the firmware to the latest one and the router began to work better. The 5Ghz was FAST FAST FAST, but I could only get 1-2 bars and it would drop signal. The 2.4 Ghz would only get me 3 bars and that too would drop signal.

Other Thoughts: This product has awesome potential if they can make it to get stronger signal.

Seagate FreeAgent GoFlex 1TB 3.5

Pros: Still running strong. I use this to back up my client's websites. Been using this for almost two years. Turns on when going to use. Turns off when not in use.

Cons: This sits on my desk. I would be cool to have a side mount to so I could have the option of attaching it to the back of my desk, out of site.

ASUS WL-520gU 802.11b/g Wireless Router up to 54Mbps with All-in-One Print Server/ DD-WRT Open Source support
  • neweggOwned For: more than 1 year

Pros: I used this for 2 years. I knew one day it would stop working. But for the money I paid, it did it's job. My wife would stream Netflix of my xBox while I was working building websites. However I was using the ethernet cables to make the connections. The only time I used the wireless was for the laptop and cell phones.

This was always used in an apartment.

Cons: I moved from a 1000 sq/ft apartment to a 2400 sq/ft house and the signal wouldn't have all it's bars.

Other Thoughts: I am upgrading to a N600.
