This review is from: Synology DS1815+ Diskless Network Attached Storage Server (NAS)
Pros: Been using the Syn 1815 for more than two years now. I got it setup with 8x4TB disks and used as backup, DLAN and Plex server for the office. I'm a very picky guy when it comes to products in general and computers specifically, but I can honestly say this is the closest I have seen to perfection in a device.
The interface, which is something overlooked by many in the industry is intuitive, clean and powerful. Do a Google images search for "Synology interface" and see what I mean. They have built a windows-like environment which to this day I haven't found any missing feature in.
The device itself is quiet, aware of external devices (like printers that you can share, external drives, etc), or if you wish, a wifi adapter (I wouldn't recommend running this on wifi ofc).
Updates are automatic and silent, your device is always up to date.
Cons: I really had to think hard on a caveat in this product, I'll update my review when I find it.
Other Thoughts: I realize such a positive review of a product may seem prejudice, but I don't work for Synology or benefit from it in any way. I am extremely critical of products when they fail me, but when a product like this comes along, why not give the people who obviously worked so hard for it huge kudos.
My only concern is that Synology keeps the high standards of this device to future devices.
Pros: This PSU is nothing short of great engineering. It's reliable, pretty quiet, self tests itself, and well, it just works. It supports 4 workstations at our office, with zero issues, for the past 5+ years.
Cons: If I have to split hairs, the front panel comes off way too easy - you bump it even slightly and it falls off. you can connect it back pretty easily but its just a hassle.
Other Thoughts: It's super heavy. You don't notice how heavy it is because its small, but you will need two people to lift it even a short distance.READ FULL REVIEW
Pros: Big, 6 buttons near the thumb, insanely long battery life (over two weeks on single charge, im a video editor and gamer), nice DPI range.
Cons: Wheel became unresponsive after 3-4 months, and then stopped working altogether after 5 months. If you have a glass coated table, the receiver MUST be positioned on the table (using the supplied cable), or you will get erratic cursor movement.
Other Thoughts: For the price, I expected much better durability.READ FULL REVIEW
