Rosewill RCR-300 5.25

  • neweggOwned For: 1 week to 1 month

Pros: slot for micro sd cards. Reads higher capacity cards correctly. I have a 512GB micro sd card and the reader can access all 512GB. Has a voltage display for USB ports. Which is great for troubleshooting faulty USB sticks.

Cons: None so far.

Other Thoughts: Optional fan control (not using)

Rosewill Galaxy-01 - Black Gaming ATX Mid Tower Computer Case - Three Fans Included, Up to Four Fans Supported, Top-Mounted USB 3.0 Port

Pros: Cable management of case is very good and allows for cable adjustment while installing system parts.

Cons: Galaxy series are not a tool-less or modular design case. I have been spoiled by this feature.

Other Thoughts: Thin steel makes case feel less sturdy than it really is while building system. I leaned on this case with both right & left sides off & had no issues. Plastic front & top fit together like a puzzle so make sure top is on first, then attach front.

be quiet! DARK ROCK TF Low Profile SilentWings CPU Cooler - 220W TDP

  • neweggOwned For: 1 day to 1 week

Pros: I replaced a heat sink where the fan bearing was wearing out and was getting loud. Easy installation. Minimal directions but very helpful. 6 heat-pipes on the upper fins & 4 on the lower fins. So quiet I had to double check that I had plugged the fan in. Using one fan product cools up to 150w. My processor is only 95w, so big plus there.

Cons: See other thoughts for what I feel could be cons for some users, but is not an issue for me.

Other Thoughts: Non standard installation. Installation requires removal of the standard back-plate & clip anchors. Most quality coolers require some removal of the standard back-plate or clip anchors.

Product covers entire memory slot area but provides enough clearance for standard memory. Upgrading will require removal of cooler. That only means you can refresh the thermal paste when upgrading.

Now, what to do with the extra fan...LOL
