This review is from: SUNIX H2V37C0 HDMI to VGA Dongle M-F
Pros: It is relatively cheap and it works.
Cons: No place to tighten screws on vga connection. Can come loose easily if jostled
Other Thoughts: I've had a hard time finding any HDMI to VGA adapters and was glad to find this one for the dsub only monitors you still sometimes encounter. Almost all the adapters I see are for HDMI to DVI or cost $30 or more.READ FULL REVIEW
Pros: Streams Netflix in 720p well. Runs nice with WIndows 10 Preview
Runs everything I try in XBMC just fine under WIndows.
Cons: Wish for a Dsub or DVI port and another USB 3 on front or somewhere.
Also don't like the "special" power connector that I'm warned not to replace with another brand. S/PDIF digital audio connect would be nice.
Other Thoughts: Setup with 8gb stick of Crucial Ballistix ram and an old 60gb Intel SSD. Ordered Win 8.1 from new egg but started with Win10 Preview. Installed just fine without bios upgrade from USB dvd. Win 10 found wireless drivers right out of the box so I had internet right away. Does everything I ask it to in XBMC and Netflix with video and audio in 720p. Haven't hooked it up to a 1080 monitor yet. Runs great with the 8gb plus the SSD. Quiet and giving no problems so far.READ FULL REVIEW
This review is from: StarTech MDP2VGA Mini DisplayPort to VGA Video Adapter Converter
Pros: Gives me video and sound on external monitor through VGA cable and speakers for Netflix and XBMC for reasonable price over buying 19" TV to get hdmi input. Was able to use my existing 720p monitor and speakers.
Cons: Short cable from PC leaves adaptor hanging in the air with my setup. This stresses the connector to the PC.
Other Thoughts: Just what I wanted.READ FULL REVIEW
